Understood.
Yes sir/ma'am.
got tv mobile ppl complain dun have tv mobile ppl ALSO complain.. sighz.... singaporean......
No more Suzanne Jung!!
Actually, they keep increasing bus fares, i thought they do it for increase in fuel and maintenance of TV mobile. So now that they remove TV mobile, does it mean they going to lower the bus fares?
cant they just put a written notice instead of the perma message that tvmobile is no longer broadcasting?
just wondering. . .
they do on certain buses. It is from this notice that I know it has stopped transmission

they actually broadcast it right?
i think so far all bus that has tvmobile, the screen is on with the message. . .
Cant they off it, and just paste a poster kinda notice instead?
ya no more Suzanne Jung!!! =((( slurrrrrpz.
but actually, Mediacorp PAYS SBS Transit to have the TV Mobile installed. So it is actually revenue LOST for SBS Transit, so if anything, the bus fares will rise. (I think the contract was $1million / year or smth like that, can't remember)
anyone can back me up on this? coz i not really sure, but I read it somewhere. I stand corrected.
but like it or not, i think it will go down in history as the "TVMobile era" in our Singapore bus journey. It was unique and really had become, (reluctantly or not), a part of our lives.
don't you always love those shorts from NYP students when they broadcast it in the afternoon? <333
My bus trips has been quieter since 31st Dec 2009.

Let's assume (cos i myself havent seen the fin stt regarding this) sbst earns revenue from TVM, and like what u said 1 million a year. Its freaking way cheap revenue if you are talking about a bus company where about 2.5million trips are made each day and on average people pay $1.15 per trip.
Now i cant see the 9pm drama re-runs at 10am the following day. Or the 7pm drama show simulcast.. or Sushila Krishnan at 8pm. Or maybe Ottelli Edwards at 9.30pm.. The good thing about Steven Chia is the soccer match results played overnight. :)

Wa piang, i really can't stand it already. Got TV on bus, people complain, no TV, people also complain. For godness sake, please appreciate what we have now la.. Other country want TV also don't have. So stop the freaking complain here complain that..

No, they will raise it. TVMobile is an advertising platform by Mediacorp on SBST buses, Bintan Resort Ferries, SMART taxis and some foodcourts. With no additional income from advertising, bus fares will increase to make up for the losses.
indeed it feels a little weird tt buses are now so quiet.......
but ppl will get used to it soon
just like tt time when tvmobile just launched, ppl comprain noisy
but later got used to it and no one bothered to comprain anymore

The tv set was switched off and a notice was pasted on the screen to notify passengers of the cease in transmission

I am sure they earn a lot from TV mobile advertising these years.
obviously the earnings are not a lot tts why need to close down.
oh no, let's get mentally prepared there is going to have increase in fares soon to cover up loss of revenue from advertising.

Same for me.
I'm irritated for it showing "31st Dec is the last day of service of TVM." Can't they just off it , that can save a lot of electricty.
