China made and china brand public bus here
Noticed our sbs and smrt transit are replacing the solid europe buses such as volvo, scania, mercedes with china branded and china made buses such as Yutong... Another way of boosting profit. But will it be safe for passenger in the event of accident? Reliability performance? Long term maintenance...
cheaper, faster and better
SBS is still buying European makes. Simply European mades could be in - house assembled and they've double deck chassis while PRC manufacturers does not offer any as yet
Never saw the movie Armagaedon? "Russia, USA, etc... all made in taiwan/china"...

Notice that between SBST and SMRT, there's only one lone China bus. They aren't replacing European makes with China buses.
And solid European makes don't mean shit if you body them with crappy bodyworks *ahem*.
And you want to know reliability? Buses in the rural provinces of China are usually god-knows-how-many-donkey-years old. And they still run. Sure they don't look too good, but they still work.
Time to open up our mind that Euro and Japan are no longer superior.China,Korea and Malaysian made vehicles is catching up,The gap is no longer wide.
Dun see anything wrong with being china made....as long as it is reliable....dun forget in the movie "2012" all the space shuttle used for evacuation were also china made...><"

lol wtf, those are props.
China is like rushing to beat to the finishing line. Like the milk powder incident, they want to make quick money. Then put some chemical in it to make it tastes good or whatever. killed lots of babies and children.
Malaysia, cars like proton.
“It’s just built with no soul, no flair, no passion. It’s like a fridge or washing machine.” by some forumer.
to be honest, i hate china people. they are rude, litter bugs, talk loudly causing sound pollution. No respect to superiors. My neighbor just moved out and there's been a huge renovation going on. I hear them shouting and screaming like mad dogs. All vulgarities splashing out. Note that ALL my neighbors have kids age less than 12 years old.
Oh yeah, they have been drilling non stop until 7pm. And the dust are flying into my house like wooddust. Outside my house also kenna. when they finish renovate imma ask them to clean the fking area.
On christmas eve, Start drilling at 9AM... 9AM! wtf right. According to their rules, they are not suppose to work on holidays. well, my aunt scolded them anyway. So they left. But they are so money-grubbing, inconsiderate and rude to us singaporeans. What is there to respect them if they dont respect us FIRST?

By the way, the ark in the movie was made with the money of those who have purchased tickets. If max has even bothered to pay more attention, most of those who paid for them did not get aboard. Definitely the ark was reliable, but in all honesty who would trust media-tainted crap, and a fiction at that? That is 1 point for effort in actually giving an example, but 0 points for reliability of the source.
We all have many grievances when it comes to PRCs lah. Go look up the words "dog, slaughter, china, meat", and you will get a handful of videos showing how those motherfuckers stab those helpless, caged animals to death.
dun forget
engines are licensed built from European manufacturers. if we assemble chassis locally, might as well buy original ones
So the parts are also assembled in China, where labor costs are superrrrr low?
Man..what a way to boost profit!
Right now if all the management think that the bus is reliable they dun wanna give a hoot whether its China made,No soul no passion vehicles or not. They just care about profits.Futhermore all heavy vehicle are governed to a 60kmh speed limit.I woulnt mind if they use original European engines.

Not really, we still got C151A trains that is made in China as well (In service on 2011, so dont ask me how it looked like)
I never see SBS got China bus but SMRT (SMLJ) has. PS: I heard that these are still using European materials. So next time Singapore should by European parts and assemble locally, creating jobs.
The safety of a bus is only as good as the bodybuilder.
To keep things simple, while there are safety systems in place, a bus simply does not have as many safety systems as a car would. Overwhelming demand and scrutiny has meant that passenger (and now pedestrian) safety in cars is always closely monitored.
Personally, I would hate to see what would happen to the passengers located in the low-floor section of a bus in the event of a side-on 'T-bone' accident.

Dave
