1. More place to sit compared to Citaros.
2. The seat cushion is more comfortable.
3. The air-con is much better.
4. The speed is faster.
5. You can enjoy the clear view of the window directly next to you, while a citaro is you sit at the rear, you will need to bend your body down.
6. You can enjoy the nice-smelling foods if the NAC bus you are on is driving over some open-air restuarants.
7. You can smell the FRESH air, especially if you are on a NAC bus on svc 84's route [ the 84 route NOW, not when it is serving Sengkang East. ]
8. Can chat with motorists.
9. The seats are arranged almost parallel to the ground, while a citaro had it seats sometime unparallel to the ground, making you feel giddy.
10. The buses contributed much to a more lively SBST during the early 2000s.
See?
Yeah. The older folks who are not into buses would tend to prefer the B10M & VO3xs for their comfort (seats-wise).
i would agree with your mom actually. maybe not to the specific model but for me its N113s, O305s, O405s and LO2x.Originally posted by SBS2656X:When me and my mother took SBS6095M on 101, I asked her which bus she liked the most. Hahas, they liked the air-conditions.

I missed them...they were good NAC buses in the 90s.
I also missed those Mk2 Volvos. I also missed those mercedes. They were awesome buses too. The last one I took is from 88... The Volvo one is from 325...
[ YES THERE ISNT ANY MERCEDES ON 156 AND 325 ]
[ 43 ISNT INTRODUCED THAT TIME YET AND THERE ISNT ANY VOLVO MK2 ON 88 ]

If I remember corectly 156 used to have some Merc 0405s from AMDEP during those days when it terminated at Serangoon int. When 156 got extended to Sengkang in Aug 2001, the AMDEP duties were all handed over to HGDEP hence the 0405s were taken out.
325 all the while used the NAC Volvo MK2 DMs from HGDEP and it started getting aircon buses when some NAC MK2s were progressively converted to aircon.
Don't remember 88 used MK2 before unless it was a cameo. If I remembered correctly 88 was a full SD with Volvo MK3 and NAC Scania N113CRB too when newly introduced.

But the DM Mercedes Benz O405s started out with very bad air con systems as well, it was years later that they improved the air con system by changing to eyeball ducts.

They were the third batch of air-conditioned buses brought in by SBS.
Saying of these, I missed the sound of the Merc O405's engines...

Yep, after the Nissan Diesels and Scania N113CRBs

Oops...I forgot about the Nissan Diesels, I count the buses as the third batch as though it is like this:
1st batch: Scania N113CRBs
2nd batch: WA Mercedes-Benz O405s
3rd batch: DM Mercedes-Benz O405s

Oops. I want to ask where can I get the registration dates for the 700 O405s?

Haha yeah.I also badly miss the MK2s alot.I just simply miss their unique engine sound which at one point of time will sound like a cat as stated by the others also.Haha indeed a very unique engine sound it had.
I thought I just saw a Mk3 on 72??? Anyways, the MkII and MkIIIs are extremely unique.
Extremely missed the Mercedes Benz O405s...
Who LOVES the MkIV DMs???
2 days ago I just saw one camoing 27 XD
Some have eyeball ducts and some have the Rect Grid ducts... I still loved eyeball ducts more XD
Citaros? FORGET IT! NOT EVEN A DUCT!!! FULL OF CAMERA BUT NOT EVEN A AIR-CON DUCT!!!
Still, the BEST looking bus of my choice that is non-WAB is the DM3500s.
They looked the most awesome, especially that awesome-looking SBS2779A with it's EDS and redesigned Nokia Interior. It is unique those times. Can't bear to take 1 million photos of it.
What about WAB? It's the...
Yes. It's NOT citaro! [ Chicken Hit Meat in Chinese ( Ji Da Rou) ]
It's the WEG!!! [ The always-awesome looking DD. ]

I think Strider B10M are the best looking.
Actually SBST can install eyeball ducts on the duct panels near the windows. But depends if they want and when they want.
But MK3s are harder to catch now. Can mostly see them on 195 now...
Must catch them soon...

But got 1 problem :
Got 1 seat just behind the rear exit door, that seat gets 4 air-con ducts blowing it
And you can try catching SBS880C on 325 - It usually flies when speeding on Upp Serangoon Rd towards HG AVE 2. In the past, it also flies on Buangkok Green past Buangkok Cresent to YCK RD. Now they don't fly as stupid freaking taxis stop on the freaking PARALLEL YELLOW LINE
SBS872B on sv151 today. Was on it about a week ago too. :)

Most comfy seat. Even have a "headrest"...
