5 fans inside there.
1 Panaflo, 2 AVC, 1 Delta, 1 Nidec.
All at 3000RPM and above
the fastest is the Nidec, at 5600RPM.

I would think that VSO's are better maintained/sturdier than the Tridents and B9's. Engine roaring yes, that's common, but there are 'silent' B10TL's too.Axle problems, none that I've heard so far. The B10TL may be loud and have lousy acceleration, but it feels really sturdy compared to the fidgety Trident or the bumboat B9's.
i gotta agree with this though...now i'm recalling how the VSO roared in WRI...
3 B9TLs, 1 service, on 1 same day, almost threw up halfway through Svc 80.
The vibrations are just unbearable.

this bus vibrates? I really dun feel anything when it is idle. Instead, SBS 7402D is having slight vibration.
The roar of 7335P somehow is fixed.......

I remembered i sat there for an 'experimental test' on a B9TL on 198. Guess what; i had the same feeling as you do! I think by right CDGE should not implement a side-facing seating arrangement of the upper deck of any DD. I gotta tell ya; when the bus tilts from left to right, i felt like vomiting already.

It would be a safe bet to say then that you won't survive in the RSN if you happen to be THAT unlucky.

LOL. But then in this kind of situation, its really a total no-no for me.

RSN ah, I don't think even Penguin Ferries.

A lot of people dont realise bigger ships are more likely if not just as likely to give you motion-sickness.
Plus Penguin Ferry is just 15-20 min....can you imagine puking for days on end?

Somehow, the loud sound of the B9TLs when it is moving sounds better than the monotone loud whirring sound when the Scania K230UB bus is at rest.

Yeah. I find it sounds very powerful.......
B9TL is one damm good DDs.It can speed and brake well given to the right BC.Only irrate is the speed limiter
In case someone wants to fix it up these were the buses featured in the video : SBS7477M SBS7381E SBS7311H
Even SLBP also cannot match up to this vibration 'standard'

YEAH ! I agreed ! I had terrible headache after riding it on Sv7 ! Talking about that bus, I don't see it on Sv7 or is my timing off. Hmmmm
I stays at Clementi Ave 5, could hear the roaring of Sv7 B9 far far away ! Seriously, they did to do something to the exhaust and radiator and also maintaining the bus! I could not believe ALOCA rims actually rusting away !
I feel BBDEP B9 very badly maintained.

they don't rust. they just get scratched, dirty and tarnished. alcoa recommends placing a spacer between the hub and the inner rear wheel, as well as another spacer between the inner and outer rear wheels.
can see that sbst didnt bother. look at the rim faces of the alcoas on the kubs and b9s. that grey ring around the rim nuts is prolonged scratching between the hub and the rim.

In case you don't realise, aluminium is one of the most reactive metals to air. The only thing that stops it from being corroded completely is the layer of corrosion on the rims itself.

Nowadays new buses are getting quieter as bus manufacturers are making them to be as quiet as cars. And I believe the underpower and the monotone engine sound and slight vibrations when changing at low gears is due to the tuning and tightening of gearboxes by SBST. The KUBs have the potential of higher speeds if SBST didn't tighten the gears.
If you recall the buses of the 70s and 80s, like the Volvo B57s, Leyland Victorys and Atlanteans, Mercedes Benz OF1413s, Albion Vikings, they have the loudest and most powerful engines. Probably buses in the 70s and 80s are much more interesting than what it is now.
