torsion bush la.. If I nt wrong, SBS 7493R got it changed recently.

the funny thing is, unlike the LO3/VO3 which tag axle sounds 'loose', the B9's more commonly have it on the front axle. makes it even scarier.
plus, the tridents have this 'loose axle' problem on the front as well, but i haven't seen any VSO's having such problems.

For all my complaints about the VSO....I still prefer them to the Tridents.
Less of course 9844Z. The wheel fell out. ahahahaha
an example of what i mean, e.g.: you take svc 76 right. at a certain part inside amk there's this steep downhill with strips. then the bus goes over it and then all you hear is this loud 'gonggg gonng gongg gong glong plonk' sound.

I would think that VSO's are better maintained/sturdier than the Tridents and B9's. Engine roaring yes, that's common, but there are 'silent' B10TL's too.
Axle problems, none that I've heard so far. The B10TL may be loud and have lousy acceleration, but it feels really sturdy compared to the fidgety Trident or the bumboat B9's.

The B10TL has been roaring at constant noise levels since day one, so I've gotten used to it. In fact I was a little sad to see the 161 VSOs taken out. Fortunately there are now VSOs on 88 to let me hear the familiar roaring.
The Trident? Everything about this bus is run-down, right down to the lights, interior and exterior.
I initially thought the VSOs on 161/168 would not survive roaring down TPE every single day, but it has proven me wrong. Again less 9844Z.
IMO, the best maintained DD relative to age must be the VO2X, VO3X Batch II and III and the VSOs.

Oh yes the VSO's would survive :D
Loud engine and screaming Voith gearbox outlived your expectations.
Except for one 9844Z where the wheel fell out... :P

The VSO is starting to grow on me....when I see the VSO come to pick me up, I know the AC is definitely good, and the seat is comfy and the bus is quite stable with good suspension.
The noise, the slow-poke stuff, I can take, no problem.
Sometimes I'll wait a bit for a Trident for nostalgia sake (I used to take tridents everyday), and without fail I'll leave grumbling about the stuffiness inside, and the bouncy rocking horse suspension made worse by the shuddering when it stops. There are times you think the trident was going to stall on you when the handbrake goes off or the bus comes to a stop.
I take Tridents for nostalgia too :P
Haven't taken a ride in one for a long time already.
I miss the VSO's, from the day they left 161. No more nice roaring rides :P
I always love the look on passengers' faces at the bus stop when the VSO roars away from it :)
And the good aircon, unique smell, stability.. All too good :)
You should see their faces when 7335P roars off.
I still cannot believe there's any bus in SBST that's louder than this monster.
I've heard KUBs roar....and none come as close to the B9TL's. Maybe the closest contender is the VSO....but even that is too faraway. Or maybe the occasional bumboat LO3X comes closer.
Bumboat LO3X aren't that bad :P
People also get shocked when 7404Z pulls its park brake.
sbs7341x is it good/
wooooo vso ftw. my favourite type of sbst ADD. ahaha (:

im aware of the good B9TL's on the services that you mentioned. the topic is indeed B9TLs that vibrate badly. is it wrong to say out the one that i find vibrate badly?

I took it previously on 161 and the idling sound is horrible. Its not vibrative or jerking or some sort; its just the sound thats annoying.
