I think it's to be agreed on to be done next year. But I wonder how far would it materialise.
In the first place at Kranji which I noticed today, only 160 & 170 have passengers. CW1 dun have much passengers boarding (unless its opp Kranji MRT Stn bus stop and 160 or 170 does not arrive as yet).
Anyway it seems Handal Indah is even allowing passengers to pay the bus fares in RM when boarding CW1 at Kranji!!!! Board in Singapore, must pay in SGD. Board in JB of couese pay in RM, dun tell me Handal Indah allow ppl to pay in SGD at JB?
Woodlands side 950 demand is quite average if taking into consideration the freq, but not only driver never asked ppl to move in, he just closed the entrance w/o even checking are there ppl at the entrance door. Typical SMRT handling of passengers be it buses or MRT
MALAYSIA BOLEH

The SL ask you go inside you still stand there as nothing happen so he must wait for you?Like that every bus stops then how?Public tpt what do you expect?BTW SMRT owned you a life is it that you must crticise them everytime? So SBST Drivers are all angel for you lah..So far i've not witness people kena kiap by the door on 950,I've seen couples of time when on 160 @ 170 even though the driver ask to move in.You must also take note that cross border services like 160,170 and 950 are majority Malaysian with full bus license with driving coaches and other bus experience

Interesting indeed but start from somewhere in the east is more suitable.SBST should start somewhere in the west via second link also
tat 950 case
I talked to e int staff abt e matter over crowd control. But he says not enough staff around.
Still talk abt setting up SMRT Inst to improve bus, MRT & taxi service and teach other people...
Bro if you think SMRT CMI then avoid it at any ost,No point ranting here. Most of us here know their limitation. If got extra money to burn buy your own car and you dont have to worry about SMRT Buses enough or the freq can make it or not,Simple.Just like what my bro in law did,Not happy with overcrowding train buy OPC Cars and book weekdays private bus to his office in Chinatown.

Like what I've said in other thread, if in your and SMRT mind is only profit and not passenger service. Can... We go giam on public tpt investment (SMRT no more staff for inspector during bus diversion and sort), force ppl to buy more car.. end up a big traffic mess like Bangkok, can you tahan (I can one cos PTOs and Govt bo chap).
Our island is only tis big, public tpt has to be in tip top condition so tat most ppl would take and lesser cars occupying the roads
but the worst is now say how tip top e service std is and wat to pass our 'expertise' to others. End up become a world joke
Save tat for ourselves
If SBS can deploy TIs at CLE for Sv 96, BNL for 179/ 179A (even to e point of stopping traffic to let Sv 179A priority to exit from parking bay), during diversion, at Kranji MRT, why can't SMRT tat earns $110m a year tak boleh? If profit more impt than quality of life?

Service 950 need BC to learn the route correctly especially in Malaysia.

tat's one thing. Actually even in SG, some rts like Sv 409 BC's also need to orientate themselves on some narrow roads and where to turn.
But wat I'm really referring to here, is how they handle when e bus is packed when they deem fit and telling passengers not to board anymore. For this case, I just saw e driver sitting down press button close e door and open again. At the door there was 2 lady's leg at the door..
Imagine tat
There was once that I saw 950 packed at Marsling MRT then everyone at the bus stop just stand there wait wait next bus, some take taxi le..
What i seriously wanted is that cross-border services have a good frequency, like 170. It has a large fleet of MK3 and maybe one bus can come within about 7-9 minutes.

950's freq should be ard 10-12 mins. Holiday1 probably around 8-9 mins.
SMRT 950 rule of thumb is to take from Woodlands Int itself...

but NSL in train announcement
"Going to Johor Bahru? Alight at Marsiling Station and transfer to SMRT Bus Service 950 opposite the Marsiling Station to Kota Raya II Terminal. The last bus leaves at 2335"
But honestly, if really wanna take from Woodlands Ctr to JB, take 170 (From 170B to 170R) cheaper
when rebates were raised to 50c, CW1 ridership dropped a lot.. from kranji can collect 5pax at 15mins freq very good liao in the afternoons.
but but, at checkpoints, when 160/170 takes 15mins to come, i wont mind paying more for "priority" queue

yeap, CW1 now only relies on those passengers who take it when they dun see 160 & 170 and dun mind forgo rebate.
today only saw like 10 pax e most per trip

the MRT train announcement is another irirtating MRT stunt. those who want to go JB dont need anyone telling or teaching them to take 950.. with its poor frequency and high loads.. ppl bo pian come from woodlands then take it.. i go JB from AMK, i rather take MRT 2 more stops to Kranji and take 170

off peak now 16 mins wo
Holiday dun think got special schedule either
might as well just put a new line from Kranji to Larkin Terminal , SMRT & Malaysia Railways join hands , no matter how many service you put , no point, it's about frequency and efficiency
I think SMRT should use all 20 bus instead of just 8-10. Roughly, 1-3 will be stand-by bus for service 950 and the rest will be on service.
SMRT can also direct Passenger to take service 911/912/913/856/178 and walk into the Woodlands Checkpoint.
Really no point one,Saw many 170s stuck up in the jams for dunno how many minutes. Then when reach Malaysia checkpoint 5-7 buses at one go,Good what pax has many choices.950 is just a back up services,Another alternative though you cant really depend on it.
