Bus preservation is something that is unheard of in Singapore.
Talk anything about bus preservation in Singapore. Perhaps we could, in the future, preserve the last LO3X (SBS 9168S). What do you think?
i hope that they can preserve volvo front badges or leyland front badges(more nice is without painting over!). and preserve the SBST decal on upper deck windscreens for all LO3x/VO2x/VO3x even if it is overlayed by ad.
if the AM/BR VSOs can preserve Moovelite LED panels then they no need to resticker whole body liao. by then no badges sticked on the body will be removed. it would be more nicer than no badges.

People in Britain will buy 9168S.
The only problem is that bus/train fans here can't fork out the money and land. I'd agree that the best chance for the LO3X, is the UK preservation groups or any form of collaboration with them.

So long someone offers anything more than its scrap value + admin fees, I don't see why they won't release it.

Preserve SBS9632T's old SBS decal.
Good one TWS :D
I am sure the last Leyland will be bought by someone who is rich? Who has experience in preserving buses? Since SBS9168S has a lot of meaning to LEYLAND bus.

Yeah 9168S marks like the final end and the closing down of Leyland.Very historic bus for Leyland.

I dun think SBST is even willing to keep 9168S.Even if they are willing to,like sgbuses said, where r they going to go for the land to keep the bus?Since when has ever Singapore preserved a public bus?Singapore is a place which dosent support this type of things. Its nt like in London or hk where they are very bus-fan friendly.

Its not as bad as you mentioned ... ... people should be able to get used to it. The difference between SG and HK/London is that the bus enthu community in SG is not as large-scale as in HK/London. Many people are not exposed to the fact that such hobbies exist. Once much more people know what bus-spotting is all about I am sure people would understand. All we need is just to get some people know about the hobby (not necessarily to join as a bus-spotter, just know about what we do) and the perceptions will change
if you guys are really serious about this, it is recommend to let the UK bus community know about it starting now. Funds don't get raised overnight, and it is very likely that SBST might start offering LO3Xs for sale next year (as it always does for old buses).
Repeat. People in Britain will buy back 9168S.

Which preservation group/museum is buying back 9168S?

Whether SBS Transit will release 9168S to them is another thing..

Yeah, not expecting extension, retirement is around Mar 2011.
It would be nice if Govt would fork out money for a bus museum, so that SBST n SMRT buses can be preserved, like a memory lane or something. I went to Iluma one month back and saw the history roadshow there. They had a picture showing SBS 1st DD running on SVC86 at Tampines Ter.
Cheers.

Eh, its Tampines Way Terminal, which is basically Hougang CC bus stop along Hougang Av 3.
