After seeing this,I think SMRT rejected the King Long hybird bus trial
Aiyo only 6.34litres only? Will be more worse if top speed kena locked.Imagine big bus with only 6.34 litre travelling at 60 kmh with full load

In that case, might be appearing on short route like intra-town services, 911(shortest in among the intra-town group if i'm not wrong), 882, 901 and 902...

Bus running with 2-3 fuel truck behind it to top-up fuel when need...
I dun think the 6 litre Citaro fuel tank is small.Performance wise ie mid and top speed cant beat the OCs but still strong in acceleration due to its Turbocharger diesel engine.
853? I guess 853 needs some variations, instead of the usual dennis lances.
I dont mind more mercs, they've only two perms.
But I'll be happy if the citaro comes to 853.
Citaro and Nissan back to back? Woah!

Can't be. TIB1017D and other Dennis Lance been doing 853 and I'm suspecting its perm.
looking forward to this new addition..

Yah, but maybe those long distance bus services have lower chance.
Maybe 169, 965? Sengkang needs to have a SMRT demo.

Got le, TIB838H, TIB905Y & SMB1H :)
Put the citaro on 985 lagi best! BC can chiong at e'way le :D
6374 cc = OM 906 hLA.
Don't underestimate the Mercedes-Benz OM 906 hLA Euro 5 engine guys. It's a fast-revving engine that packs quite a punch, especially when combined with a ZF gearbox.

Sorry to burst your bubble but going by the engine number, its a OM 902. This engine is offered on the Citaro besides the 906 and 457. My sources are from MS Motor Service and i have identified past Mercedes-Benz engines with their information.
One way is the engine number, 90292600817161, the first three are the engine model and type numbers. For my identification method this is true so far.
No, I'm sorry to burst *YOUR* bubble, but there is no such engine as the OM 902 hLA...
OM 906 (h)LA = 6374 cc
OM 926 LA = 7201 cc
OM 457 (h)LA = 11967 cc
Engine code does not necessarily equate to engine model / designation.

You got your point here. Besides from what we see on Mercedes-Benz sites, they only have the OM 906 hLA noted.
But on my own learning curve, this is not going to stop here. I will put forth my question to the Daimler staff tomorrow at the launch. This is not a challenge; we all learn the correct way. Just like some people are arguing whether local OC500LE come from Brazil or Spain... I will post the info I get tomorrow here or share with you through PM.
I pride myself for identifying local Mercedes-Benz bus engines, however I should also note that I should not have an inflated ego. We all should not. Answers from the Daimler staff would be the best gift for tomorrow.
I have no doubt that what's in your Citaro is either an OM 906 hLA or OM 457 hLA.
And to clear your other issue up, all OC 500-series chassis products are manufacturered in Sámano, Spain at Evobus Ibérica. The Brazillian chassis for heavy urban low-floor buses are designated O 500 U (articulated version is O 500 UA).
