The latest list is out, with a crazy amount of premium services approved.
Another approval is amendment of service 235 to service Toa Payoh East and Lorong 6.

Pretty boring update this round I'd say.
Transit Network Consortium
Application to operate a peak hours Premium Bus Service between Sin Ming Avenue and Marymount MRT Station rejected due to non-compliance with the PBS guidelines
o.O, after the cherry bus one failed so horribly. these guys dare to try that route...too bad it was rejected :o
i think they only wanted a peak hr only sv while cherry bus was running a daytime service...
Big chunk to HBF/ PSA Bldg if there's anything new to go by
For the past applications, SBST also haven proceeded with so many of the amendment/new service such as 232/76/117/113/119/170e/41? etc etc etc... did they just try to apply first then decide whether to really implement?

think it has got to do with the opening of the right turn into lorong 5.
the route should be lor 6 -> east -> lor 5 (new turn) -> follow current route from what i see.

to help on the load of sv 238 as well?

oh yes definitely. Seen many times 238 cant clear the load at Blk 27. However, if 235 were to serve Lor 6 bi-directional it would defeat the purpose of ppl living at lor 5 from getting home fast. Ever since the 10-min rule for feeders kicked in, the ridership for 235 had been growing.
However, there's a new pair of bus stops at Blk 30. and hope SBST dont just apply and let it lapse again.. the proposed 232 amendment lapsed already...

imo it wont affect the travel time too much. lor 6 vs lor 4 its just probably a few mins difference. in addition if 235 is amended as such there probably will be fleet add? due to the heightened demand. so in exchange for the longer route theres a shorter waiting time. sounds fair to me.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
It'll make travelling time longer for existing people just to serve that 2 bus stops. I rather that 232 is converted to a bi-directional service. At least it can benefit some of the existing commuters.
Btw, how come SBST didn't need to apply for the recent amendment of the premium routes?

applied but did not appear in the list.

So, this time round nothing from SMRT?

for 235's case its a trade off. Longer route but its likely the headway would be shortened due to the likely increase in demand. Besides the two stops isnt that long anyway XD
i think some of the new premium will use the service numbers of former cityshopper routes.
Anybody has any idea about central bus route planning by LTA?
Heard they were going to implement sometime like this year, but seems like this plan has been shelved? Or am I missing something out?

LOL... lucky our bus doesnt come 3 months after waiting. LOL...
Anyways, seems like the PTC and LTA both did a bad job in their plannings, always coming up with poor initiatives.
- Such as, removing MRT seats to squeeze more people in the attempt to carry more passengers. WHICH IS LIKE WTH. NOBODY would WANT TO SQUEEZE.
- Having more WAB buses, buses with more standing capacity. WHO WANTS TO STAND ON THE BUS? With an ageing population, this is CERTAINLY A DUMB IDEA.
- Increasing bus fares / MRT fares on an annual basis? At most decrease 5 cents but increase 10 cents?
- SMRT's 1st GO GREEN Campaign = "Win a CAR when you travel with SMRT".. You encourage people to take public transport, but give them a car to drive?
- SMRT's GO GREEN Campaign = "Giving out pamphlets to ask people to join their GO GREEN Campaign online. And How GREEN did you get?
Yesterday the 630pm mandarin news reported drop in public transport, increase in private transport.
have you notice that last year no basic bus service comming out, 128 withdrawn fast liao....sad......that why now drop in pple taking public transport

128 is still running, with far fewer stops and confirmed seat if you take the service :D
Anyway, I do not how the garment measure ridership of public transport. Do they add the ridership of bus and trains to get ridership of public transposrt? If this is the case, then an increase may not be good cos people might be making much more transfers than before.

I think is due to few reasons... One is that bus companies are waiting for LTA Central Planning to take effect. Also, I don't think both bus companies have to capacity to do so with the QoS now in placed.
So many premiums are introduced partly because the routes require mostly 1 or 2 buses each only, imo.
