I think if one of the O-Bahn buses breaks down on the rails, the one behind would push it to the next interchange. Kinda like how our MRT system deals with the very faulty trains.

It doesn't help if vehicles on the jammed lanes do not have way, or rather, can't move to give way to the bus which is exiting to allow the emergency vehicles to travel.

maybe they hav stations situated near by with tow trucks ready?
anyway, actually it is good to allow BC to have a choice to skip e-way to use other roads if schedule allow plus it does not skip stops like fast foward ones to all e-way bus service, for eg, service 30 dun nid to use ECP but can use nicoll highway.........

30 cannot, got to use Fort Rd. In the end routing thorugh nicoll highway takes longer.

that is an alternative, cause remember once 30 been diverted to use nicoll highway

that one is planned diversion i thought.

yes..........

once upon a time 30 did use nicoll highway and shenton way.
It won't work seriously, only contribute to more jams and cause more havoc during emergencies.

before reverting to ECP right?

Wrong, they have a unique Merc truck which can be driven on either side, ie, it has 2 cabs, the only one in the world. The truck is fitted with guidewheels and will go into the O-bahn and tow the bus out.

And its a Mercedes Benz SK...
roud shouler?
hmm well i have some ideas
i have travelled aborad Taiwan and Korea. they have thiese 2 lane bus / fire engine . ambulance emergency veh, polcie road ways. i think of a name for them call PSV lanes. hahaha
but the big constraint here it must be 2 lane for all public service vehciles. (PSV)
Erm, PSV include public buses.
in our expressway context, these PSV 2 lane roadways will have 2 lanes so as to allow fire engine etc to overtake bus. or if a bus breaksodown, overtaking can be done. naturally the seocnd lane of the PSV way is for fast moving veh. or even express bus.
in land scarce singapore, PSV lanes can be set up along AYE and PIE. but think about it, one lane less for cars =- big big big big jams. idea is bad.
the PSV lanes can also be viewed like a guided bus way or BRT system.
BRT is not PSV lanes
note BRT systems in pure definition DO NOT allow PSVs along its roads unless it is a bus running on that system.
In Xiamen a pure BRT system is set up and runs like a LRT system with elevated roadways and train stations. er bus stations.
