A friend of mine got told the MAN hasn't been running for a while, is the bus returned to MAN already?
Is he a bus fan?U cant be too sure abt it.Maybe it's just sleeping inside BNDEP or having maintenance or something else.
lol always mia one la. just wait lol.
It is really a pity i have not joyride this bus enough
only ride is on the x-over to 354
Plz wait while we transferred u to see MAN
awww .... :(
If it is really taken out of service and has been returned to MAN, most likely the bus will end up with a purple livery.
LOL I just took and documented the bus on the week before it went MIA?
Hopefully it's just a redeployment.
8031J sometimes goes back to MAN for repairing or inspection or maintenance so don't always assume that once it goes back to MAN it won't come out again.
let's learn some theory
theorem :-
Demosntration buses are usually returned to demonstrator if operator did not buy the bus. A set time of demonstration si set by the bus maker.
Fictional example: Irisbus sends a demonstrator to operator Bus Hopper. irisbus states that the EUROClass bendybus WAb is to be 'a gift" for 6 months. if Bus hopper does not buy this bendybus unit, it will be returned to irisbus. this is stated in the contract. pls sign..
bus Hopper signs for the bus.
Scneario 1)
bus Hopper purchases the bus after 5 months. the Irisbus Euroclass bus does revenue service for a full 19 years with Bus Hopper.
Scenario 2)
bus Hopper takes no actions. irisbus asks the Bus Operator to return the irisbus Euroclass to them. irisbus then decides that South korea's Kim's Citybus bus service will take the demonstrator and ships the thing to South korea...
*Bus Hopper is a fictional Bus operator.
Dangerous Demonstration buses are...lol.. they can go at any time without warning.
Demo are most unstable
I still remembered the Volvo - Alisa B55 or the Scania DD or Dennis Dominator given to SBS for evaluation in the 1980s

Something like SBS8030L. Close to trial period ending it vanished for a period of time, which many bus fans thought that it was returned to volvo which in fact it brokedown. But in the end, SBST bought down the bus.
The Volvo Ailsa and Scania BR112DH stays, but the Dominator was exported to Hong Kong.
Return to MAN due to last time breakdown engine problem?

u sure sbst had bought the bus ?
Hi,
This trial MAN bus is provided and built by ST Kinetics , since July 2008. It wasn't plan to be deployed to Bedok North Depot initially. Currently still plying on loop service 6, from Pasir Ris Interchange.
Have a nice day!
great, hope I can see it svc this saturday..
Saw the bus outside a workshop in ST Kinetics Ayer Rajar, along AYE yesterday.
Either it has not started with its inspection and maintenance works or has already finished with it.
Some SBS demonstrators that disappeared "suddenly" in SBS history.
- Leyland National 2, said to be the first true air con bus in the 80s
- Leyland Olympian 2 axles
- Leyland Leopard
- Ford bus (forgot the model)
- Hino bus (this demonstrator existance remains a mystery)
- Isuzu bus (forgot the model)
- Dennis Dominator
- Renault PR100.2 (SBS 30 P)-> This bus's sudden disapperance still remains a mystery till now. We still don't know the real reason why it has suddenly withdrawn from the SBS fleet in the early 1990s.
- Scania BR112DH - Didn't stay long with SBS. Was sold to UK after a year or two.
- Mercedes Benz O405G articulated bus
- Volvo B10M Artic articulated bus
- Volvo B57, Soon Chow body, if I'm not wrong.

you have a higher chance spotting this bus on weekdays.
Hope so
The National is force Air ventilation, not air cond.
I though the Scania BR112DH last till 1990s
Volvo B57 has a Metsec body build by Soon Chow.
the bus is still at STK Ayer Rajah on 040909 at 1000hrs.
now parked near the restricted area meant for Army vehicles.
i managed to 'molest' the bus a bit cos
i was there to send my MAN LAERC 1.6284 truck for servicing.
i didnt ask the employees there when 8031J would be done with its maintanence though.
