I remembered SBST ever introduced a max fare ride cap of $3 (?), is it still in practice? My third transfers now simply recorded as new bus ride, previously it was recorded as transfer as well.
If still in practice, how does SBST justify if the third bus rides are a transfer or a new ride?
If no longer in practice, when was it removed? Having a fare cap is a smart move, I would deliberately wait for another SBST bus, if I am going for a joy ride.
Now is
1 ride + 1 ride = 1.90 for max
Never three at one go already.
The fare cap of $1.90 was OFFICIALLY withdrawn effective the working day of 1st October 2008.
Unofficially, the farecap still exists. The difference between this and the unofficial farecap is that you cannot claim the trips that begin two hours after the first trip, nor trips after the 4th.
The old system allowed you to claim the non-automated fare cap trips. So in the old days, if you took 20 trips (with valid transfers within 45 minutes) and it cost you $13, you could claim $11.10 back from SBSTransit.
lol i forgotten...
what i remenber is travel within 2hrs from first tap cannot repeat same number,
even take SMRT train from kallang to boon lay, within 40 min, take bus 30 back, alight tanjong rhu, change 12, when board 12, it show transfer, when alight at lorong 1, fare deduct = 0.00
all these with 120 min
Dunno got cap in the first place...
thanks for clarifying.
zaxus, you are right, you must not repeat the same number and you must not have any SMRT bus rides in any of the 3 bus rides.
btw, the time or clock in all fare machines are sync from a central server? else the next time must insist the bus captains to set the time correctly.
The time is synchronised with the GPS satelites.
The max fare cap was scrapped when the increased transfer rebates were brought in. I don't understand what he means by they still unofficially exist.. is it a loophole or what
