Use whichever is correct. I also not very sure.
It's about time that we are going to hear from PTC soon that the bus companies to seek for another fare adjustment contemplating higher operating costs for better bus frequencies ...

if you were to see their FY, all these are alrdy makaning their margin
Yet you dun see our LTA scrapping e ERP for buses
Why would MDA scrapped the TV License fee? These are simply part of our indirect taxes.

at least part of it is to fund for current affairs prog or those cultural prog
I believe the Malaysian TV stations have had produced more current affairs and cultural programs then our Mediacorp. And the Malaysians paid 0 sen for their TV license. The Malaysians paid 0 sen for their utility bills, if their utility bill for that month hit 20 RM or less for that month. For us, even if you use 1 cubic meter of water, you need to pay water conservation tax.
It boils down to mentality, it is either
a. if you collect 100 dollars, you have 100 dollars to spend, or
b. if you needs 100 dollars, you plan to collect 100 dollars.
MDA will not scrap the TV license fee, neither will LTA remove the ERP charges for buses.
SMRT always view their bus and taxi operations as separate business functions from their train operations. In her annual report, she will highlight the bus and taxi are in the red, as a public transport operators she should view all their train, bus and taxi as one single business function, her bus operation should be viewed as a complementary component to her train operation. At the very beginning, what strength TIBS has had that she was given the milk cow??? The then TIBS share holders must be laughing to the bank.

but dun forget, M'sian those normal tax rates are much higher than us
not to say they've oil, palm oil all wat's not to survive on
Nope, even SBS seperates it's bus and rail biz, same goes to parent ComfortDelGro. If not how are you going to know e health of your biz?
Corp tax rate in M'sia is 26%... even higher than PRC's 25%
Singapore is alrdy 17% liao
they themselves have palm oil, rubber, fruits/ vegetables, crude oil/ gas, rice, sugar to survive on
I will be happier if our corp tax rate is higher at 50%. Anyway admittedly our personal income tax are much lower then our Malaysian counterparts. That's probably why Gong Li and Jet Li come to know about Singapore.
Back to our bus companies. Sure the bus companies should separate each business functions, their buses, taxis, trains and overseas functions...
However they should see all their business functions as complementary roles, they should use their cash cows to support the lesser, in the reds operations. Just in any MNC, there bound to have some cost centers like the R&D, the administrative.. or like the Semiconductors industries, we are seeing a periodic and more frequent up and downs, how do you think the semiconductor companies survived during the downturns?
Business will never be always a bed of roses, there bound to have ups and downs. If the bus entities not making monies and cry wolves for fare adjustment each time, then for sure our transport companies are very well shielded and protected from our toothless regulators.
No wonder the stock analyst will view transport companies as defensive shares.
sv196 goin to fail the timing...

Ok then, how did IRIS and OMTS came about if not for a better fare system?
They needed capital for R&D for e technology

waiting for 14 can be very troublesome at times...seems like the timetables they give is not really effective during those periods....
Blame it on those increasing number of youngsters owning cars and blocking the traffic.
Haha...
I dun see any improvement actually.

scheduled and actual differ.
63 does have a 5min "layover" at rumah to help adjust their schedules. you can sort of count it as a two-directional.

actually from north bridge rd toward rumah. the headway starts the lengthen already. at chinatown headway can easily reach 13mins.
this LTA regulation let commuters hear there's nice frequencies only, in actual fact it isnt that easy to implement.
