U can try looking at the B02 Upper Thomson Rd located at the Name Tag of the bus stop.
Usually the bus stop will go by B08, B06, B04 then B02. It will go by 2s since there are usually a pair of bus stops at both sides of the road for a landmark. Or. you can look at the fare stage at the bus in the ezlink card reader. Stage 16.5 -

52 is faster as it uses the PIE and skips Bt Timah. But peak hour wise, the difference might not be too great.
Expect an hour in peak hour traffic, minimum of 40 mins if no waiting time is involved. -

take bus 16 is ur best choice if u're coming down from orchard since it stops right outside blk 115 hawker. when going back to orchard area, u can consider taking bus 14 from jln bt merah. -
