I will say around the same time for Service 969/858/965.
Btw are you a RP student? If yes, never take Service 902 if you are going to school, except Wednesday of course...

I did some research myself, this r a few ways but not sure which is fastest so need you guys to give some suggestion?
1) from SK take 85 to yishun int, then change to 171 to mindef
2) from SK take 161 to woodlands int, then change to 963 to mindef
3) from SK take train to little india stn, then change to 67 or 170 to mindef
4) From HG take 74, 151 or 153 to bt timah, then change to 67, 170 or 961 to mindef
*all the above take @ least 1hr to reach mindef excluding waiting time, i think count in the waiting time for buses, i guess it will take a longer time as bus never come on time unlike MRT even with the help from irsis for sbs transit buses & SMRT don't have this kind of service.

:D
Anyway, I think 74 to Bt Timah will take around 35 mins? 151 takes about 45 minutes.
Anyway, I was thinking of how to get from NUS High to Flora Rd (for my friend) and I chanced upon this answer: 151 to Tampines Rd then 53/81. Is that the cheapest way or is there a cheaper one?

okay. Anyway, how to get to Seletar West Camp from Lor 4 Toa Payoh? I've thought of a few ways.
163 to Jln Kayu, 103M
73 to YCK Rd, 103M
105 to Serangoon Int, 103M
Can anyone tell me which is fastest, or is there an even faster way?

I believe where you live plays an important part in your commute to gombak. If you live in Sengkang the recommended way is via Yishun or the NEL.
However for Hougang its either train or 74.

See which bus comes first, 73 or 163?
Rough time for both options don't differ too great in my opinion since at the end u have to transfer to 103M.
105's option seem to be more circuitous than the two above options cos of 103 route from S'goon Ctrl to YCK Link.

I will recommend 3rd and 4th option.
3rd option in my opinion is the fastest. Waiting time for 67 and 170 is not bad and it takes me 30 minutes on 67 to travel from KK to Choa Chu Kang cos the driver races all the way.
tanjun u working in mindef? for 170 & 67 in the morning like 7am or so are they many people on board? as what I know both buses stop @ nus will there be any case that the bus was full & the driver just drove away?

Oh. If you r taking in the morning peak, I will suggest to use the 4th option,
74, 151 to Bukit Timah Rd, transfer to 67, 170, 171, 961.
153 to Bukit Timah Rd, transfer to 67, 170, 171.
Take any of the following options whichever comes first. 74 and 151 will be quite crowded in the morning. 153 then 171 will be a safe bet.
Quite a number of choices of buses that you can take actually. So i guess, dun have to worry of not getting up onto the bus.
solution 1:
take 151 or 153 from hougang int & alight at NUS & then tranfer to 67 or 170.
or
take train from hougang or sk to little india station & tranfer to 67 or 170.
67 & 170 by past too many places where the morning crowds are from, e.g NUS, hwa chong jc, chinese high sch. this crowd of people usually take the 7am buses.
so task:
1) percentage of boarding the bus is lower
2) alight & boarding time is slower
3) bus is full & drove away is higher
all this 3 point add together mean more time wasted.
solution 2:
Take bus 85 from sk to yishun int, then tranfer to 171 to mindef
1) less crowd
2) bus from int usually come on time
3) expressway from sk to yishun in the morning usually no jam
4) fewer bustop as it via the expressway
5) there maybe a jam at lentor before reaching katib & the jam may sometimes up to 15mins or more depends task there is a risk
solution 3:
take 161 from sk or hougang int to wld int, then tranfer to 963 to mindef
Reason:
1) less crowd
2) bus from int usually come on time
3) expressway from sk to wld in the morning usually no jam
4) fewer bustop as it via the expressway
so the best way is solution 3 : take 161 from sk to wld int, then tranfer to 963 to mindef
Haha this is a analysis by me hope it help others too not myself only.

Hi.. this is a simple question for some for you.but not for me..as i'm not really street smart.
i'm trying to get to Sim Lim Square..and i'm never been in that part of singapore before..and i would like to get some advice to go there, and i'm afraid to get lost, so please help me with details and explanations to get there if possible. (Maps with explanations would be great). MRT would be my most favourable transport to and fro.

Perhaps you will like to mention from which location so that we can provide you with specific and optimal info that you require.
Nearest MRT: Little India Stn. Abt 1 - 2 bus stops away from Sim Lim Sq.
