"Commercial vehicles driven dangerously"
.........I feel that the authorities should take a firm stand on commercial vehicles in the way they drive. For example:
>> Speeding trucks along Changi Coast Road.
>> Tour buses crossing double-white lines along Cuscaden Road towards Orchard Road.
Buses forcing their way out of bus lanes. (I have even seen an articulated bus beat a red light).........

With ref to the ones in bold, i think bus drivers are FORCED TO SQUEEZE THEIR WAY OUT OF BUS LANES because very little motorists are willing to give way and insist their right of way. Its useless even if bus drivers signal right! These motorists simply refuse to let the buses filter out! typical selfish and inconsiderate bunch of people, just like hungry ghosts rushing to be reincarnated!
And this writer failed to mention vehicles (esp driven by youngsters) racing down oridinary roads at extremely high speeds and suddenly change lanes and drive like a terrorist! And vehicles suddenly cutting sharply in front of a moving bus!

Old buses on service 975
Recently, more and more old buses have been appearing on service 975. These buses are in a very bad condition, with old seats that have holes in them, and a terrible dirtiness.
The window frames are rusty and there are holes in the floorboard, exposing the open road. The bus is noisy and travels bumpily. There are problems with the bus door and the quality of the aircon differs from time to time; taking such buses is slow and uncomfortable.
Bus fares keep rising these few years, but service does not seem to have improved at all. The aircon does not work and delays are frequent. Hopefully the bus company can improve, doing passengers a justice.
Apart from threatening safety on the road, such old buses do not fit into Singapore's city scenery.
I agree, peeps tend to stereotype after seeing one such bus. just bcos one (or maybe a handful) of the buses are poorly maintained doesn't mean the rest are not. but then again, it is human nature not to compliment something well done, but to complain furiously when something goes wrong.Originally posted by simnatic:C'mon, these people are exaggerating. Talking about the fare adjustments posters on the bus stops, i find that it is a waste of resources by putting up 2 notices which one of them is from SBST and the other from SMRT. These 2 posters showed the same thingOriginally posted by brotherchen1982:
