Terms and Conditions
The SBST Christmas Double Promotion comprises of 2 events that will run concurrently:
• Christmas Lucky Draw (the "Lucky Draw");
• 12 Days Before Christmas Online Auction (the "Online Auction");
1. LUCKY DRAW
1.1 Qualifying Periods, Draw Dates and Last Date for Prize Claim
a) The promotion period for the Lucky Draw is from 4:00am, 12 Nov 2005 to 11:59pm, 2 Jan 2006.
b) The Lucky Draw will be held on 9 Jan 2006 and the results published in a selected newspaper and the SBST website at a later date.
c) The last day for the collection of prizes is 1 Mar 2006 by 12:00 noon.
1.2 Eligibility for Lucky Draw
a) All ez-link trips made on SBST buses and SBST trains (NEL, SKLRT and PGLRT), with fares deducted from Adult ez-link cards, Senior Citizen ez-link cards, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Student ez-link cards or NSF ez-link cards during the qualifying period as stated in 1.1a are eligible for entry for the Lucky Draw. Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Student ez-link cards or NSF ez-link cards with e-stamps are also eligible for entry for the Lucky Draw. Customers using shareholder or employee passes will not be entitled to participate in this promotion.
b) The promotion would be administered through the issue of “Transit Dollars” to customers equivalent in value to the fares deducted from ez-link cards and “Transit Tokens” for e-stamp rides during the promotion period.
c) “Transit Dollars” and “Transit Tokens” are issued by SBST at SBST’s discretion for the purposes of the Lucky Draw and Online Auction. They do not have any monetary value and can only be used for the Lucky Draw and Online Auction as stipulated by SBST.
d) The eligible trips shall be allocated 1 chance for each Transit Dollar and 1 chance for every 2 Transit Tokens remaining at the end of the promotion period. For example, an ez-link card with $50.61 Transit Dollars at the end of the promotion on 2 Jan 2006 will have 50 chances of winning. Hence, the more a customer travels on SBST, the better the chances of winning.
e) The Transit Dollars or Transit Tokens accumulated on one ez-link card shall not be transferable to another ez-link card.
1.3 Issue of Transit Dollars and Transit Tokens
a) “Transit Dollars” are automatically issued upon complete entry and exit processing at the Entrance and Exit readers and fare gates according to the deducted value of the fare received by SBST (i.e. fare net of transfer rebate and fare apportioned to NEL). For example, $0.39 “Transit Dollars” would be issued for a deduction of $0.64 less transfer rebate of $0.25 from the ez-link card on a SBST bus. Users of concession e-stamps will not be issued “Transit Dollars” but are issued 1 “Transit Token” for each complete trip instead.
b) For an MRT trip from Orchard to Little India, only the portion taken on NEL, which is from Dhoby Ghaut to Little India, will earn Transit Dollars. Users of rail concession e-stamps for such a trip will earn 1 “Transit Token”.
c) On services listed in Annex A, bonus “Transit Dollars” and “Transit Tokens” will be issued. The total “Transit Dollars” and “Transit Tokens” to be issued in this case will be equal to twice that of other SBST services. For example, $0.78 “Transit Dollars” will be issued for a deduction of $0.39 from the ez-link card on service 174, which is listed in Annex A. Users of concession e-stamps will not be issued any bonus “Transit Dollars” but are issued 2 “Transit Tokens” for each trip instead.
1.4 Checking Transit Dollars and Transit Tokens and Registration of ez-link Cardholder
a) The number of “Transit Dollars” and “Transit Tokens” issued can be checked at the SBST website www.sbstransit.com.sg starting from 19 Nov 2005.
b) Transit Dollars and Transit Tokens displayed will have a time lag of 5 days. For example, Transit Dollars shown on 30 Nov 2005 are for accumulated Transit Dollars from 12 Nov to 25 Nov 2005.
c) Registration is not necessary for customers to take part in the lucky draw. However, customers must first register their personal particulars in order to check the “Transit Dollars” and “Transit Tokens” accumulated during the promotional period. Instructions will be available at the SBST website www.sbstransit.com.sg.
d) The details to be provided for registration are as follows:

1.5 Conduct of Lucky Draw
a) The draw shall be conducted at SBST Headquarters at 205 Braddell Road Singapore on 9 Jan 2006.
b) A computerised draw system will be used to randomly select the winners according to the chances allocated to each ez-link card. Each complete Transit Dollar is equivalent to one chance for the Lucky Draw. Two Transit Tokens are equivalent to one chance for the Lucky Draw. The higher the Transit Dollars or Transit Tokens accumulated, the higher the chances of winning a prize. SBST's decision on the winners of the draw shall be final and conclusive.
c) SBST reserves the right to draw reserve "winners" in the event that any winner should be subsequently disqualified for any reason.
1.6 Lucky Draw Prizes

b) SBST may at its sole discretion at any time replace or substitute any prize with another prize.
1.7 Publication of Lucky Draw Results
a) The results of the draw will be published on the SBST website www.sbstransit.com.sg, and displayed at SBST's bus interchanges, NEL stations, SKLRT and PGLRT stations. They will also be published in a newspaper at a later date.
b) SBST shall state the ez-link card number and card type of the winning ez-link card for the results of the Lucky Draw.
2. ONLINE AUCTION
2.1 Qualifying Periods, Auction Dates and Last Date for Item Claims
a) The promotion period for the Online Auction is for travel from 4:00 am, 12 Nov 2005 to 11:59 pm, 19 Dec 2005.
b) One Online Auction will be held each day starting on 13 Dec 2005 to 24 Dec 2005, or the 12 days before Christmas. Items offered for each day of the Online Auction can be viewed at the SBST website www.sbstransit.com.sg from 12 Nov 2005. Each daily Online Auction will open for bidding at 12:00 noon and close at 11:59pm on the same day. The qualifying Transit Dollars for the Online Auction may be accumulated from 12 Nov 2005 to 5 days before each Online Auction Date.
c) Results will be announced at 10:00am at the SBST website www.sbstransit.com.sg on the following day of the auction. The winner will also be contacted by phone or by email if such information is provided.

e) The last date for the collection of auction items is 1 Mar 2006 by 12.00 noon.
2.2 Eligibility for Online Auction
a) All ez-link trips made on SBST buses and SBST trains (NEL, SKLRT and PGLRT), with fares deducted from Adult ez-link cards, Senior Citizen ez-link cards, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Student ez-link cards or NSF ez-link cards during the qualifying period as stated in 2.1a are eligible for this promotion. 2.3 Issue of Transit Dollars
a) The same “Transit Dollars” available for the Lucky Draw may be used for the Online Auction. Only Transit Dollars deducted for a successful bid are no longer eligible for chances for the Lucky Draw. Details of the issue of Transit Dollars can be found in 1.3.
2.4 Checking Transit Dollars
a) Details for the registration for the checking of Transit Dollars can be found in 1.4.
2.5 Conduct of Online Auction
a) Bidding will only be on the SBST website. Bids for items are to be made using the available “Transit Dollars” accumulated during the promotion period in 2.1a. Registered customers are allowed to place bids for the items offered for the Online Auction corresponding to the times set out in the 2.1d.
b) The Online Auction will be based on a closed bidding system. Hence, the current highest bid will not be reflected on the website. Once a bid is submitted, the Transit Dollars used for bidding will not be available for use on the same day. Customers are not allowed to modify their bids but are allowed to bid for other items using any remaining Transit Dollars after the previous bid.
c) The highest bid for each item received before close of bidding will be the winning bid. Transit Dollars will only be permanently deducted from the ez-link card of the winning bidder. In the event of a tie, the earlier bid will be considered the winning bid.
d) At each Online Auction, SBST reserves the right to draw reserve "winners" in the event that any winner should be subsequently disqualified for any reason.
2.6 Online Auction Prizes

b) SBST may at its sole discretion at any time replace or substitute any item with another item.
2.7 Publication of Online Auction Results
a) The results of each Online Auction will be published on the SBST website www.sbstransit.com.sg. Winners will also be informed by email.
b) SBST shall state the ez-link card number and card type of the winning ez-link card for the results of each Online Auction.
3. Claiming of Prizes and Items
a) The prizes of the Lucky Draw and items for Online Auction must be collected by 1 Mar 2006 by 12:00 noon.
b) Winners of each draw must contact SBST via the contact number provided with the publication of the respective draw results to make arrangements for the collection of the prizes.
c) The winner in the Online Auction or the Lucky Draw must present the winning ez-link card and NRIC or passport or any other identification document that is acceptable to SBST, when claiming the prize or item at 205 Braddell Road Singapore.
d) All prizes and items are not exchangeable for cash or other items or products.
e) SBST shall, at its sole and absolute discretion, determine the colour and any fittings, fixtures and accessories of the prizes and items in each draw. The winner shall accept the prize and items on a "as is" basis.
f) The top prizes of the Lucky Draw will be presented to the winners by SBST, at a prize presentation ceremony to be held at a venue and on a date and time determined by SBST. The winner or a representative duly authorised by the winner in writing, must attend the prize presentation ceremony to receive the prize. Non-attendance at the prize presentation ceremony will mean that the prize will be forfeited without any liability, responsibility or compensation to such winners.
g) SBST makes no representations nor warranties whatsoever as to the quality, safety, suitability or fitness for purpose of any of the prizes awarded or items auctioned. All implied warranties or conditions on the part of SBST are hereby expressly excluded.
h) SBST reserves the right to disqualify any prize claim if the winning ez-link card has been tampered with in any manner.
i) All uncollected prizes or items shall be forfeited and donated to a charity chosen at the discretion of SBST and no claims whatsoever for payment or compensation shall be entertained.
4. General
a) The employees of ComfortDelGro Corporation Ltd and its subsidiary companies shall not be eligible for the Lucky Draw and the Online Auction promotions.
b) It is the customerÂ’s responsibility to provide to SBST current, complete and accurate information and to keep such information up to date. SBST cannot and will not be responsible for any problems that may arise or be liable in any way if information provided by the customer is not current, complete or accurate.
c) The Lucky Draw and Online Auction promotions shall be carried out in accordance with these terms and conditions and SBST may from time to time amend, vary or supplement these terms and conditions and update such changes accordingly at the SBST website.
d) Registration for participation in the Online Auction shall be deemed and construed as acceptance and agreement on the part of the participating customer to be bound by all the terms and conditions pertaining to the Online Auction. Participation in the Lucky Draw shall be deemed to be carried out in accordance with the terms and conditions pertaining to the Lucky Draw and customers shall be deemed and construed to have accepted the terms and conditions for the Lucky Draw and to be bound by all the terms and conditions pertaining to the Lucky Draw.
e) Registration of ez-link cards for participation in the Online Auction or checking of Transit Dollars and collection of Lucky Draw prizes shall constitute irrevocable permission by such customers to SBST and its subsidiary companies to use the information registered or available for the purpose of customer relations or promotion activities (or any other matters so determined by SBST) without any liability, responsibility, compensation or notice.
f) SBST's decision on all matters relating to the Lucky Draw and Online Auction shall be final and binding. SBST shall not be obliged to enter into any correspondence on any matter relating to the Lucky Draw and Online Auction.
g) SBST reserves the right to use the pictures and photographs of prize-winners and disclose and publish the name and any other particulars of all or any prize-winner for publicity purposes and the prize-winner agrees to co-operate and participate in the activities organised by SBST for these purposes, without any fee or compensation whatsoever.
h) SBST reserves the right to suspend, discontinue or terminate the Lucky Draw or Online Auction at any time at its absolute discretion without prior notice for any reason whatsoever without liability.
5. Limitation of Liability
a) SBST and its participating agencies shall not be responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, failures or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, providers, computer equipment, software, or browsers, whether on account of technical problems, traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website (including SBSTÂ’s website), or on account of any combination of the foregoing.
b) SBST and its participating agencies shall not be responsible in any way to the customer for any direct or indirect or consequential losses, damages, costs or expenses howsoever caused, including without limitation those arising from:
i. any decision of SBST or any act, omission, mistake or misrepresentation of SBST in relation to any matters of the Lucky Draw or Online Auction including the computation of Transit Dollars or Transit Tokens;
ii. any breach or failure by SBST to perform any of the obligations set out in these terms and conditions;
iii. the state or condition of the prizes or items featured for Lucky Draw or Online Auction;
iv. any amendment, variation or modification of these terms and conditions;
v. any destruction, theft, unauthorised access to or alteration of any data, transactions or records;
vi. any incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate information provided by the customer;
vii. forfeiture of any prize or item for any reason; and
viii. the withdrawal or termination of the Lucky Draw or Online Auction promotions for any reason.
