Yes, i meant Bt Purmei Ave. Typo error.Originally posted by tranquilice:Do you mean Bt Purmei Ave? I don't think 12m buses can ply the narrow and zig-zag Bt Purmei Rd.

I wonder why SBST didn't withdraw service 371 earlier and at the same time adjust the fare stages of service 163 in Sengkang to be not more than 4, and enhanced to ply Fernvale Lane . Why only do it when Sengkang LRT west loop started operation and not earlier?Originally posted by 105090:actually, i asked SBS last time about the duplication of 371 with 163 a few years back. it was said that in the fernvale area, pax taking 163 will pay 83 cents, while 371 will costs 63 cents. the presence of 371, a feeder svc, is to let passengers pay the minimum to get to the town centre. However, now, 371 is withdrawn, and 163A (wuich i never seen it), replaces 371 exactly. the fares to fernvale on 163 were also subsequently adjusted to be fixed to 63 cents.. well well.... same as 227 and 17 i bedok..
maybe to give the fernvale lane people a sense of belonging? have a feeder bus that is.. and the LRT to replace 371.. its quite strange the flats are built a distance away from the nearest LRT stn (fernvale)Originally posted by tranquilice:I wonder why SBST didn't withdraw service 371 earlier and at the same time adjust the fare stages of service 163 in Sengkang to be not more than 4, and enhanced to ply Fernvale Lane . They don't need a feeder service, they will be happy if they can take any service (including trunk service) to the town centre paying the minimum fare.Originally posted by 105090:maybe to give the fernvale lane people a sense of belonging? have a feeder bus that is.. and the LRT to replace 371.. its quite strange the flats are built a distance away from the nearest LRT stn (fernvale)
correction...try taking 113 from hougang central interchange to kovan...Originally posted by sbst275:But they are still within 64c (wef 1 June) range
This is because, in the past, Without the presence of LRT(west), theres no way for the ppl in Fernvale and Anchorvale had no choice but to take the only 2 buses... 371 and 163.. ANd... do you know that in the morning (6+) even if both 371 and 163 arrive at the same time, the buses will still be packed.. ?? I kNow about this because i'll pass by SenGkang every other day... Thats why i know... to mi, w/d of 371 was a VEry Stupid Mistake which they (SBST) Had made with the opening of LRT(West). Students at nearby schools NOw have to spend longer journey time gettin to their Schools/Homes. To Me, They should have Kept LRT (West ) Close until the Whole Sengkang is Developed and keepin 371 running...Originally posted by tranquilice:I wonder why SBST didn't withdraw service 371 earlier and at the same time adjust the fare stages of service 163 in Sengkang to be not more than 4, and enhanced to ply Fernvale Lane . Isn't there SWT 163A that ply on the former route of service 371? Is the SWT able to cope with the load?Originally posted by sBs_boy:This is because, in the past, Without the presence of LRT(west), theres no way for the ppl in Fernvale and Anchorvale had no choice but to take the only 2 buses... 371 and 163.. Telok Blangah Hts/Dr are linked to Outram Park by Svc 124. I remember the time when 124 was amended, the press release said the enhancement will give residents of the affected areas access to MRT.Originally posted by tranquilice:The main reason why service 131 is enhanced to ply Bt Purmei is to provide the lost link by ex-service 605 between Bt Purmei Ave and Telok Blangah Way. If the main reason is to connect Bt Purmei to the nearest NEL station, then why isn't there a service connecting HarbourFront MRT station to Telok Blangah Heights, Drive and St 32?

Not all Bt Panjang feeder services were withdrawn, service 343 (now 921) was kept.Originally posted by Townlink 268:Sv 163 is a bit like a goodwill service for SKG west residents, as they has LRT near, but still a dist away. rem Bukit PAnjang had all feeder withdrawn before 344, (345 ?) were reinstated.
you must be satying in SKG.. to tell u honestly, as SBS has the North East under their control, SKG residents are very pampered with many bus services and a spanking new NEL.. m sick and tired of SKG residents always competing with AMK or HG residents for buses.. especially 156 159 and 163. note that these 3 svcs were specially extended to SK with 27, 866, 501, 502, 136. new services from SKG only has 865, 864, 83, 371, 372Originally posted by sBs_boy:WHAt Im Tryin to say is How Bout those From SGK who Wans to go to Outside Yio Chu Kang Rd ??
