i already boycotted NKF long time ago.
when i was working in my previous company, one of my colleague, a manager, asked my help in raising fund for NKF. for charity's sake, i agreed.
then i received a fund-raising card posted to my home address. the purpose of this card was to go around asking for donations from family, friends and relatives, where they filled up their names, put signature, and put down how much they have contributed.
when i opened the envelope and took out the card, i saw the most beautiful fund-raising card in my life... so colourful, made of good quality thick-paper, and even got a very innovative built-in pocket to contain the cash.
well, i posted back the card back to NKF wif nil return.
few days later, a lady from NKF called me up asking me why the nil return, and added that "every dollars and cents counts, no matter big amt or small amt, blah blah blah..."
i told her over the phone that NKF is very rich already, no need ppl's donation. she sounded a bit offended and said it's not true at all, and demanded why i made such comment.
i asked her how many this type of fund-raising cards have they printed for this donation exercise. she said about 50,000. i told her from my experience, the cost to make that fund-rasing card shud be at least $1 (after bulk discount), and i havent count in the creative fees yet, which is at least estimated $3,000.
i asked her to make the calculation herself on how much the total cost was for this fund-raising campaign. and she replied said, "abt $53,000 loh!"
"ok, so why not use this $53,000 to help those kidney patients instead? u guys can use as little as 20 cents per card, which is around $10,000 in total, w/o any fanciful stuffs, to achieve the same purpose for this campaign"
the lady on the phone was stumbled... she said thank you and hang up the phone. -

they come to our place give free check up mah..den they keep pestering us to donate.. -

didnt feel like seeing pple do this do that and cry like a (*&%#@ juz for donations. Hell if they could stop asking u to donate every minute of the show then i just might

i feel tat most ppl donate becos of the prizes and rewards... defeat the purpose of charity... charity comes from the heart, not becos of prizes..

Agreed.... Sadistically.... I am waiting for something to happen and I will be curious to see the outcome... Dun they realised that the stunts that they are performing are too dangerous and I can't find the relationship of performing dangerous stunts and NKF patients....
