Please help on Windows XP!

  I am using Window 98.
  If I change to Windows XP, will I lose all the programmes and settings of my system? meaning re-install MSN or the set up Internet modem all over again? Will I lose all my MSN emoticons I have saved?

  The msn emoticons are a seperate set of files right? If so then can just back up then copy over ur msn folder in winxp??

  If there is a msn folder at this address
  
  Documents and Settings-->--->Application Data---->Microsoft---->MSN Messenger
  
  Every little thing you customised in your msn will be inside. Since you're using 98, I not so sure.
