Beer exploded next to my computer!

  Just opened a can of beer and some nice Doritos...Nacho Cheeze..Yeah!
  
  Then i accidentally knocked the beer over when grabbing the crackers...and the beer plunge to the floor..
  
  Pop! The beer exploded and sprayed everywhere, book shelf, computer table and computer cables!! Arrhhhh!!!
  
  Clean like hell just now. The beer can inside all left with lots of bubbles and very little beer left
  
  Why the beer exploded when it is a freshly open can? Carbonated drinks?

  u hit the can, the can fall, shake shake shake, gas pressure inside the can builds up due to that, untill a point where the can is unable to withstand the pressure and thus 'explode'..
