Dear fellow sgforum users,
Would appreciate it if anyone could spare a few mins to offer any advice on which camera is better for my purpose -
Canon A310 or Canon Powershot A40?
My budget is less than $400, so I narrowed it down to these two models. Two main differences are:
Canon A 310
- 3.2 megapixel CCD
- 5.1x digital zoom only, NO optical zoom
Canon Powershot A 40
- 2.1 megapixel CCD
- 3.0x optical zoom
I just need a camera that will take high quality photos for holidays, e.g. scenic shots of mountains, beaches, large buildings, etc (both night and day shots) and also indoor shots, i.e. inside museums, galleries, hotel lobbies, etc. Also, I want the photos to be of good quality when printed out on standard 4R size.
I do not know whether for an amateur user like me, whether an optical zoom of 3.0x (Powershot A 40) will really come in handy for me, or whether it is better to just go for a higher megapixel CCD (A 310) instead.
I currently own a BenQ DC 2300 (2.1 megapixel), with 4.0x digital zoom, and want a slightly better camera.
Thanks for taking the time to view this msg. Any help is greatly appreciated!
