A Photographer's Namecard - comments pls!

What would you think receiving a name card like that?
I need some serious comments... thanx. just give it to me.. HARD.

oh if u're referring to the "standard" namecards with company name address phone numbers and fax, with company logo, then yeah this is definitely not it.
basically at every wedding i go to, quite a few pple want my contact in case they or their friends may need my services, but i keep "forgetting" to get one up, so this is wat i've come up with. it serves it's purpose in terms of giving them my contact, but i just wanna know the impression it gives...

Picture is excellent!
But on one hand, you could be selling restricting yourself to Wedding Photography only.
And you could include that all important website address to your portfolio.

wah.. maya is awake?? heheeh nice to hear from u! yes it does look like i'm a wedding photographer, but i am giving this out at weddings WHILE being the wedding photographer ehhehe
bear: it depends.. but generally yes, it's not cheap, it's full colour. however even if i pay say $40 a box (prob print 2 boxes first) it's NOTHING compared to the cost of my equip. this type of money cannot save one....
base: well i do intend to specialise in weddings only, and of course the namecard design can change in future. that website will be added.. AFTER i get a proper portfolio up. i dun want pple to see chapalang stuff. i need a niche. in fact, i'm gonna start working with a website developer for my online portfolio. will be up fully running target end of the year.

4c/0c or 4c/1c (i might put a fully black back) isn't cheap, unless i use digital. i prefer offset (who doesn't!) and i will wanna get it double sided matt lami... that's why i won't be surprised if it comes up to be $40 a box (or more)! esp in low quantities...Originally posted by BÃ¥seline:A four colour printing.... not really. i'm getting quite a few enquiries and the impression i got was that becos i'm a freelancer or just helping a friend (obviously i have shot for a number of friends' wedidngs becos all around my age) my price and ability could be undermined. i certainly don't want that to happen.
sad to say, if u're good, but charge cheap, sometimes pple think u're not good. it's a singaporean mentality.... if a pro charges $8k a day (chris ling photography) then he MUST be good... logic? becos of the charges.. boggles the mind.
but.. well chris ling IS good.. -

looks good onscreen.. even on an LCD notebook like mine, it looks pretty good...
BUT.. on a card? how good will it look?

it'll look much darker in print, usually, making an image "darker" brings more contrast overall, which is good in this case.
also i'll be using matt lami, so the finish will look very professional, non-glossy and smooth, leaving no fingerprints. -

i'm gonna give it to you baby jonnie~~~ hehe, juz my personal opinion/preference though....
1) Colour theme
Maybe instead of this yellowish/gold hue, u'd like to try other tinge of colours say light purple/pink/silver? colours like these convey a classy and professional image, which is what i think of your photography services.
2) font size/type of expressivelyjoho
yeapz...kinda small i feel, imagine it being reduced to namecard size, gonna be barely size 12 font. think you can at least double the size of the fonts (going by height, not length).
hehe, i also don quite like the slightly funky font type you have chosen for your contact details at the bottom. maybe wanna go for something more elegant to give a more consistant image of being able to provide "professional services"?
3) Job Description
Perhaps would be good to add in a line in small print of what range of photography services you can provide? Say "Providing professional photography services for weddings, events, parties, formal functions etc"
4) email addy & online albums' url
may be advisable for you to settle on a permanent web hosting provider? registering the domain name for www.expressivelyjoho.com webby costs little but it speaks volumes for this venture of yours in terms of credibility and impression.
i think in all, you need to give potential customers the confidence and comfort in knowing that you are a professional photographer althou you are a freelancer. so image establishing and confidence building starts from the basics like namecard design and being able to offer clients a decent looking webby to preview your excellent works. -

he also didn't quite like the overall design but i figured he was juz being his pesky irritating self. so let's disregard his unprofessional opinion. -
sth simple added with a sense of class would be great...
this card focus mainly only on wedding shoots?
