Think there are telescope where u can mount your camera at the eyepiece and u can really take close shot of it. Focus shld be easy, it's the zooming that need big lens i think.Originally posted by the Bear:like the full moon.. how do you focus??
is there any setting or anything?
or do you need a lens which i do not have?

you have problems using auto-focus? just point and shoot?
infinity is the 8 sign on your focusOriginally posted by the Bear:going to try that.. if i can figure out where and what it is on my cam

nah... most situations we wouldn't need to use these functions.. just point and shoot..Originally posted by the Bear:going to try that.. if i can figure out where and what it is on my cam

i wouldn't be worried about AF on the moon, since it's really high contrast, a bright moon vs a very dark sky.
i'd be worried about ur camera's exposure metering. since the sky is really dark, the meter will make the cam expose more, and thus over expose the moon. in such situations, u'd rather have an underexposed sky (it's meant to be frigging black anyway ehhehe) than have an overexposed moon.
so wat u can do is, do an at least -1EV on ur meter, or, if u're lazy, just take a few shots in manual, each time increasing ur shutter speed by one "notch"... dunno if ur "notches" are in 1/2 stops or 1/3 stops..
kaoz.. i'm getting too technical liow..
okok layman's terms. whack on manual (still can use AF) set an aperture, then start shooting at 1/60, then keep shooting at a faster shutter until u are happy, go back choose the best shot and del the rest...

overexpose on the 2nd type ? i guess so
