a quite stupid BUT important for me question!

  ok, what i have got to ask is when i buy a digital camera right, is it really really necessary to charge it for like a long period of time like 8 hours for the first time?
  
  and what if i did not charge it like that for the first time? will it have any effects on the battery and camera?

  ok i'm not the best person to ans, becos i never give a sh[/i]it about my batteries when i first buy them, be it handphone, camera or watever.
  
  i just charge until the charger says fully charged, then i use liow.
  
  so far, my handphone batt has laster 4 years, so has the handphone (yes that's not a typo) and my cam has lasted 8 months. the batts show no sign of "aging"....

  oh ya, if i want to use macro..how do i use it? i think e digicam doesnt have this function..

  ahhaah i'm getting alot of macro questions lately..
  
  ok wat cam u using? anyway most models use a flower symbol to denote the macro function.
  
  do u know wat the macro function is for? anyway if there's a button or symbol of a flower on ur cam somewhere, eithet on the cam itself or in the menus, then u have that function. it mainly allows u to stick ur camera very close to an object and u still can focus.
  
  some cameras (like mine) does not allow macro thru all ranges of the zoom lens.
  
  in other words, for me, if i zoom out all the way or zoom in all the way i can't focus very close objects even tho the macro funcion is on.
