  actually i dont want to go to dslr so fast is because i dont even have the skill and artistic idea of photography yet.
  later if i get 1. so what. my phots are sh|t because of the photographer.
  i cant even handle my own cam properly.
  somemore i dont have the money for a 3k camera body 800dollar lens lah.

  har now considering 717 liow ar?
  
  get the 300D lor.. with lens kit under 2k.
  
  dun worree about skills and wat not, there's always an auto (or programmed auto) mode for the dSLR...
  
  it also has ur A and S (oh.. sorree canon is Av and Tv) modes that u wanna learn..

  i already have problems getting money for a new cam whether is it s7000 or 717....a 2k 300d is out of the Q.
  somemore my friends said the AF points cannot select 1 leh.
  
  dunno whether is that a prob.
  anyway i abit diehard nikon fan. abit dun like canon....
  anyway i not sure abt the lens, do i need to buy special lens,because i dont intend to stick to canon mah.afraid later buy a few canon lens then only can use on 300D like not easy to sell lah.
  rather defect to nikon.

  get jonno to give you a rundown on the 717
  
  he had a go at it yesterday
  
  i'm still in the dark.. i just point and shoot, tweak with the settings a bit then shoot

  Can select AF point ah..no prob!
  
  the kit lens is a 18-55 f3.5-5.6..
  and this is the only EF-S lens which can only be used on the 300D at the moment...think canon will be coming up with more of these EF-S lenses, but you can always stick with the normal canon EF lenses which can be used for all the canon dslr..
  3rd parties (canon mount) lenses are also great value for money..hehehe
