not too much of a reader myself, beta wait for the ang moh pai pple like jOhO and the Bear to recommend you.
get twelve red herrings or a twist in the taleOriginally posted by fire & ice:ever considered archer? his politically inclined reads are just the nice mix of suspense, anticipation, wit, schemes & a touch or humour albeit sometimes grey humour.... try the short stories first.
no surprise since you've so many exciting stories of your own to spice up ya life eh?Originally posted by jOhO:i won't read to save my life ahahha..
i'm a VERY poorly read person... extremely. the number of novels i've read in my life one hand can count, and the number of days of newpapers i read i just have to add the other hand..
hmm well i dunno if they're exciting.. but i'm not bored that's for sure.Originally posted by narz:no surprise since you've so many exciting stories of your own to spice up ya life eh?

try these:
nice and very hard to put down.. quirky..
Banana Yoshimoto's books.. start with Kitchen.. then Amrita and Manil Suri's Death of Vishnu
if you want deranged books that are hard to read but once you get the hang of it, it's impossible to put down, try Irvine Welsh..
maybe start with Maribou Stork Nightmares.. short stories to learn how he writes.. then move on his books chronologically as he reuses some characters in them.. i would think Trainspotting first...
then for satire with an irreverant and irrelevant sense of humour, you can't go wrong with P.J. O'Rourke.. where else can you get a man who researches "Tourism in Lebanon" and writes while in the middle of an all-out Korean student riot?
Start with Holidays in Hell
recap:
Authors:
Banana Yoshimoto
Manil Suri
Irvine Welsh
P.J. O'Rourke
