i never really noticed until i started to take on design, and then photog.. the difference is REALLY alot..

E.g eyes that evokes sympathies, that are penetrating, innocence from a child that sets one smiling
Otherwise, usually if it is not standing out among the background enough, most will feel that it is lifeless.
But I still adore black n white for certain arty farty pictures.
