  haha, well if you're not into photography like joho, then you can get a point and click camera...
  
  but occasionally i like to take nice photos... and i've been aiming the G series coz my friend had a G2... and i found it to be quite good

  erm. there has been some mis-conception here.
  SLR are cameras that can change lenses, at least between a brand of camera. like nikon cameras, i think can only accept nikon lenses and 3rd party lenses like some tokina and sigma lens.
  they use film as a recording media
  
  dSLR are a combination of digital camera and SLR.
  compared it to digital cameras, a DSLR can change lens like a film SLR cam yet u can see the picture taken and there are alot more stuff u can change without using special filters and placing it on the cam.
  
  a point-and-shoot camera are those commonly seen and easy to use. where u just load the film and shoot. i dont think the lenses can be changed.
  
  from a personal point-of-view, whether u are very into photography and aim to get results that of professionals or just use it for fun. go get a digital camera. at least when u make mistakes, u can re-take another 1. somemore no need to take all 36 photos then dev. can take a few then print it out. there are simple and easy to use digital cameras which are cheap and produce fairly good images.
