  btw my old sony, the L shape one. i bout a additinal external flash unit for it but ended up not using it cause the flash intensity cld be adjusted by its internal programming so i wasted a bunch of $.

  you wanna take pix of everything right?
  remember this:
  Size Matters. Make sure it's small enough that you'd WANT to carry it everywhere with you. Too big and you end up leaving it at home most of the time and taking it out only on special occassions.
  
  Go for a Canon PowerShot.

  Hi all,
  
  I also thinking to get a digicam.
  
  my purpose is also shoot any and everything. So size does matter as I wish to carry it all the time. Budget is less then 1k.
  
  I got 1 in mind, but ppl keep telling me that is no good. --> IXUS 400.
  
  Any advise?

  well, i haf juz got a canon A70 2 mths back n used it in overseas trip...i find it quite gd, except for it's weight...l'm a total newbie, still learning a lot abt cameras, but i find the experience very fun and enjoyable!

  i like them coz they look cool to me.. both are 5 megapixel jobs one has 4X and the other 5X optical zoom..
  
  which one? decisions, decisions... more inclined to the latter one coz seems easier to hold in my paw [/b]

  the sony 1 i think got some nightshot mode right ? esp designed for night shooting...
