Getting a new Digital camera

Which one should I get...
I'm currently using Olympus C730uz but this camera does not have an underwater housing.
Thinking of getting the Fuji S5000 digital SLR but the housing is more expensive than the camera itself.
Most likely going for a travel friendly digital camera like the Canon IXUS.
Anyone got any suggestions? -
i am also thinking of getting a S5000 to replace my lumix.
i think u shld see reviews at dcreview.com and steve's digicam-something.anyway i dont think it's a D-SLR. just a digital cam with manual override. anyway what housing u talking abt ?
from what i know, the sample pictures taken by the reviewer for dcreview had loads of purple fringing, digital noise and the pics are not sharp.my friend said " it is that the reviewer lousy?" i havent got the time to ask him what he meant by that.
1 thing though, it uses a relatively-new card, xD card. which is rather expensive.
preliminary i think u shld get the c730.at least there are a variety of lens for the camera readily. wide-angle, tele, macro lens. plus if i am not wrong,they can accept both AA batt and olympus-made lithium ion batt.
underwater housing, if u can get acrylic, then make yr own case lah. test for water-proofing by filling it up with water.? -

underwater housing is always expensive.. doesn't matter what camera u buy... so...
my friend recommends ixus 400.. if you just wanna point and shoot..

The housing I'm talking about is those plastic cases that will enables you to take underwater pictures with your digital camera up to 40m underwater....
I need a travel friendly one but also one that can take good pictures (colour to be nice as underwater pics usually turn out greeny) -
doesn't matter how expensive ur cam or ur case is, unless u have a strobe, underwater photos will always have that green/blue cast.
so if u dun intend to get a strobe and do the "full thing" with underwater photog, just go cheap. p&s with ixus and case sounds good, no stress!
but dun be expecting magazine shots.

I think strobes is a must to have good pictures.. saw a housing Cannon one that have strobe attached.
I not that professional one... just want to take some pictures underwater. The feedback for Sony was that due to the fact that the flash is no directly above the lens and with the housing it actually cause a 'black shade' on the pictures...
How about Fuji Finepix 410? that one also small also have housing.. -
fuji finepix 410 is also quite good..
the good thing about it is that, when taking movie clips.. it doesn't have a limited buffer.. some cameras only let u shoot a short clip.. with 410, you can take virtually unlimited length..
i tried a few shots with.. good pictures taken and it has fast response time, low lag -
