Any reasons why you want the Lantern and Masks pictures in B&W?
well i decided the whole series would be in b/w esp for the "oldness" of chinatown. also, to give it a more photojournalistic feel. newspapers used to be printed in only black and white, and that was the only way to print pictures last time too.
u're right about the masks, the coloured version is really striking, since the pillar is a nice red:
in this case, while the colour is vivid, i feel the red of the pillar takes the eye and attn away from the subject, which are the masks. my eye seems to be fighting to look at the pillar (with a white contrasting pipe) and the masks...
