  in terms of lens quality, nikon is a better pick.

  what's your budget? i think if you can spare 600+ you should consider a fuji finepix 410.. i assume you just want something to snap photos when the occasion arises..
  
  this camera is personally recommended by a friend who sells camera.. it's not laggy and it can shoot video clips that are not buffer limited.. the pictures come out well too..
  
  between the 2 you mentioned.. they are fairly the same.. perhaps you should go down to a shop and have a try and see which one you are more comfortable with..

  Dimage is very user frenly ...
  i used it b4 ...
  and it is very portable ... size and sleek ...
  u can slip it into your pocket easily!
