here's my 2 cents. Presume this is the first time u are going to stop living with yr mum. If so, part of her response may be arising from a profound sadness and impending sense of 'loss' of a daughter and house companion for many years. This may come out as an aggressive response if her wishes are not met ("after taking care of you for so many years, you cannot even accomodate one final request'). Whether HGF is near or not, sounds like this event will result in argument anyway, because of her emotional turmoil and desire to hold on to status quo. Seems moving out during the month will lead to longer term problem ("I told them not in that month, but they did it'). So either on Monday, or one month (or whenever HGF is deemed over) later. If the latter, Choco's advice is a good compromise: semi-moving in. Officially you have not transgressed wishes. But in reality you are increasing your length of time away from mum's house, giving you some privacy. Moving stuff in slowly may be helpful in not tiring yourself, allow time for reflection how to decorate the place. All the best, take care. -
