  the kuey is the one with the green kaya on top and the rice at the bottom with bits of the rice dyed a brilliant blue using some kind of nut thing...
  
  forgot what it's called.. but ate the traditional type before
  
  much yummier than the mass produced types
  
  p.s.
  also the duck soup
  i like that very very much.. my mom makes it well... need lots of "dried assam skin" things and tomatoes to make it sour

  the brilliant blue is a dye made from the petals of a certain flower. It's not so common nowadays cuz the a big chunk of the petals when squashed and squeezed only yields a small amt of the dye -- too much work needed. The same dye is also used to dye the tip of the traditional nyonya changs.

  the sour duck soup with assam... not sure how to classify it... one of the few things that i can make which does not require the use of a wok
