btw anyone likes wine here? so far i've only tried red wine.. n i dun really like it..
maybe i dunno how 2 appreciate yet.. hehe :pOriginally posted by the Bear:ahhh.. the harvest from the vine
i love red wine it's an acquired taste... after a while, when you figure out the complexities, you'll appreciate it
although i have to say i've tasted some really really appaling wines
Originally posted by the Bear:depends actually, being a microbrewery, their product isn't very constant.. had the most appaling brew there once... it was disgusting... but other times, it was refreshing.. a bit of a lottery, that place
beer's nice however, too much carbohydrates especially guinness
should try their lighter beer, Kilkenny.. the feel is totally different as it's nitrogen "carbonated"... that is, the bubbles are nitrogen instead of carbon dioxide.. it is lots smoother... almost creamy

u sure know lots of stuffs don't u?Originally posted by the Bear:slowly, slowly
don't form an opinion on it quickly... mostly, lots of things go into appreciating red wine... firstly, you need good stuff...
a good red needs some time to "breathe"... a bit of oxidising... some speed up the process by pouring it into a decanter... some swirl the wine in the glass (that's why you see the people "playing" with their wine)
appreciate the stuff by having a clean palate... smell the aroma of the wine first.... take a small sip and sort of (for want of a better description) "suck the stuff through your teeth" letting the wine cover your entire mouth... enjoy the taste, aroma, the tannin, the fruity flavours... all that
after some trial and error of experience, you'll kinda develop a taste for it, knowing your likes, dislikes, and what is good and bad stuff

hmmm ok when will tat be? hehe... getting excited hheeOriginally posted by skinnybeanie:if all is in favour, we can actually go to the yacht club for dinner and drinks. Quite a nice place and i think the prices are lower than the pubs outside. The only drawback is tat it is pretty far, at west coast.
