I think there's almost more than 10 headlines and stories on SARS today. Well, we know that the number of stories can only go up to a certain limit, but there's no limit to the number of people who will be down with SARS.
There were 3 articles that touched on human nature. One by Sumiko Tan and the other two by former patients who has fought away SARS.
People are starting to feel paranoid. In times of fear, people show their true colours, be it their courage or their cowardice.
Who are we to say that nobody would not be afraid of SARS. We will only be kidding ourselves.
It is precisely during this time that we should be brave and look at life more positively.
The ugliness of human nature has made us looked at people in a new light.
We can see people chiding and shurning nurses and doctors. Fellow taxi drivers making annoying calls to the driver who ferried one of the victim. Kiasi people flocking to medicine halls to buy up all medicines they thought would be anti-sars.
Of course, there are genuine people out there who cares for others. Some employers are buying more vitamins for their workers too.
Sumiko Tan admitted that she was afraid to die. But who doesn't? I'm afraid too.
What we can do now is just to be a little considerate and a little bit responsible. Those who are fighting and helping in fighting the virus don't deserve our discrimination at this time.
