"SoÂ…how's life?" he asked.
"Its alright I guessÂ…pretty much routine. Boring but peaceful," replied Marrie,
"Oh," he left his mouth open as if he had something more to say, but only melodies in raspy falsetto filled up the space between the two of them.
Marrie stirred her drink in the tall frosted glass mixing the divided layers of blue and pink. Gerald consciously twisted around, glancing at the singers on the raised platform while fingering his tiepin.
"Good music, isn't it?" he commented.
"YeahÂ…it's pretty good," she continued staring at her drink with wonder and interest while Gerald felt silence freezing over his face.
"But I've heard better," she added, finally looking up at Gerald's wrinkly face.
"It's late!" she stated with as much enthusiasm as a child receiving candy did. "I have to go."
Gerald grabbed her arm, feeling a sudden sting in his puffy eyes and blurted,
"WaitÂ…take this."
He took out a meticulously sealed and addressed envelope and thrust it into her hands, then sprung to his feet and strode out of the musty pub before she could leave.
Marrie stood rooted to the worn floorboards, letter and envelope shaking in her hands while her tears smudged the inky scratches on the scented letter-writing sheet.
urm.......urm......then what? -

ok... how to continue ar? i can suggest, but the continuation is deep inside you somewhere, look for it, or wait for it.
i guess our attention is now on the envelope, so let's decide wat's inside? a love letter is the most obvious suggestion, or a cheque implying an indecent proposal?
let's see.. how about evidence that she was once a murderer but had lost her memory?
ANYTHING can be in that envelope. stop that aspirin, use the imagination! -

wat abt using that as an ending instead of a beginning...?
then the envelope could contain watever memory or secret between them in the past that was revoked in her memory again...
then u can start anew instead of trying to continue, creativity will then flow better bah...
