Indoor Shooting under Yellow Lighting

  I'm not a professional photographer & I took candid shots; for fun that is.
  
  i use a Canon Digital IXUS i7.
  The pictures that I took indoor, under yellow lightings, looked grainy & not clear. (compared to normal roll-film)
  
  Photo-developer said it's due to the yellow lighting. Or what do you think is the issue?
  
  Any suggestion to make such as clear as possible?

  use the flash to cancel out the yellow.. or if ur camera permits, adjust your white balance setting.
  
  and with any kind of light, controlling hand shake due to slow shutter speeds is always a must, unless u are shaking the camera deliberately for some artistic reason.

  Yeah use flash to cancel out the lighting. And I think it become grainy as u shoot without flash, so the camera auto bump up the ISO.
  
  Best u can shoot RAW, then u can adjust the white balance from the Canon RAW software.

  If its due to the light setting, go to adjust ur white balance to fit the light setting that you are in, shld have it in ur camera.. tungsten..

  It could be "Incandescent". Depends on the light bulbs though.

  If u never use flash, then it probably because it changed to night mode under the low light situation as indoor is usually dark. Under night mode, it probably set the ISO of the film higher to increase the shutter speed. A higher speed setting of the film is more grainy, similar to if u buy a roll of high ISO film like those ISO 800 film

  fix on a tungstan filter and shoot w/o flash. Flash will produce those unsightly shadows behind the object.
