  i am very poor...so can only afford Sony Ericsson K700i...
  
  if u take pictures with it during the day when there is light it is still okay but if u take at night then a lot of white dots will just come out for no reason...making the image damn blur...so that is why i hate k700i sometimes lah...
  
  are digital cams nowadays cheap ar? can someone PM me and tell me what is the common price range of digital cams nowadays? thx..

  the white dot is called noise. well if you don't have those white dots, you won't be able to see any image at all when its dark.
  
  how cheap a digicam is depends on your budget.

  Hi all,
  
  Here's the camera model I am using - Nikon Coolpix 8800. Still an amateur and I don't want to spend too much on lenses so I am sticking to using a prosumer camera.

  The vibration reduction serves me well, though the constant jiggling sound that is caused needs to get use to.

  Caution though.. The camera is no longer in production, I heard.. And if you want to use filters, you cannot get them off the shelf because of the unique size of the camera lens. I had to order through Best Denki and am still waiting for the arrival of the filters..

  there are a few ways to do macro shots.. and the cheapest actually is to "downgrade" and use a digital cam! some of them offer very good macro functions.
  
  for dSlrs, u need macro lenses. basically lenses that can focus close up.
