actually the max zoom is still the same at 200mm, but the sharpness of this baby is beyond words.
wah u ok anot? not being able to feed urself.. thank goodness for girlfriends.Originally posted by www:hahaha... congratz man. it has been a while.
say, what's the zoom distance like?
in layman term, how far can u stand to shoot a pair of nipples as if you are right in front of them without having the len on?
btw, i dont think i'm visiting sentosa for another couple of months, given that my primary objective is volleyball. just screwed up my elbow and still having difficulties even to feed myself with right hand.
surviving, but no bowling for the time being.Originally posted by jOhO:wah u ok anot? not being able to feed urself.. thank goodness for girlfriends.
erm.. i would LOVE to try to test out the exact distance on a live specimen, but maybe, let's use a more "common" example. ahahha
for a person who's head is on top of the frame, and feet below (in portrait orientation, meaning "vertical" photo) at 200mm on dSLR i would have to be about 20m away (maybe more)? if i add a teleconvertor (1.4x) to get me 280mm, i guess i'll have to stand 20mx1.4=28m away? hmm actually i never really noticed, just trying to remember from experience...
i guess i'll have to test it out properly hahaha
word from a novice: use a tripod!Originally posted by kopiosatu:hmmm stand so far but won't you hand have to be steady? i notice that when i zoom all the way with my lens, i need to decrease shutter speed and any shake will cause the blur.
/me lub chin
/me raise eyebrow
purchase constant aperture lens?
yeap u answered ur own questionOriginally posted by kopiosatu:hmmm stand so far but won't you hand have to be steady? i notice that when i zoom all the way with my lens, i need to decrease shutter speed and any shake will cause the blur.

oh ya bowling.. i'm still phobic.. my knee.. but it's much better now.. i can still do a 20 min treadmill at the gym with no pain.. so i guess it's slowly getting better, but still phobic!Originally posted by www:surviving, but no bowling for the time being.
gez.. 28m. now the second question: how much did the lens cost u?
ya, depends on how important it is to u to get a good shot lor.Originally posted by kopiosatu:lug a tripod around??? kinda ma fan rite?
Originally posted by jOhO:hmm i just re-read your post on the nipples thing.. did u mean minimum focus distance?? meaning how close can my lens go to the object and it still able to focus?
if that's the case, it's 1.5m from the FILM PLANE. meaning 1.5m from my CAM, not from the end of the lens. it's still pretty far, but such is the character of longer zooms.
nah... i wanted to know how far your zoom len can bring u without losing the sharpness rather, which i think u have already answered the question when u said 28m.Originally posted by jOhO:hmm i just re-read your post on the nipples thing.. did u mean minimum focus distance?? meaning how close can my lens go to the object and it still able to focus?
