That the human mind can be decoded into a computer language, it can then be hacked into, bits of real memory erased and a totally false past and present programmed into the human mind without the victim any the wiser...
That humanity can have so many prosthetics that they are no different from androids. Androids have artificial intelligence and try to pass off as humans... and they are hunted down Blade Runner-style by augmented humans who are police.. no different from the androids they hunt except for the "Ghost"..
That a program, which learns, which hacks into human minds, gains sentience and becomes alive...
Concepts like that.
Are we moving towards this type of future? This was also the sort of concept which was written in Neuromancer by William Gibson. Our current innovations and direction in IT are mostly inspired by Gibson.

it's impossible to even try to emulate the human mind. at least, in this point of time. even the smartest AI computers are just a big load of "if this, do that".

hmmm, XLN, if it's movie Ghost in the Shell you are looking for, I've seen them in VCD format at TS when I was looking for the latest Crayon Shinchan...
