What is that ONE thing that hinders you from joining outings

for regulars who treat such outings as another usual after-work activities, do you still remember the first outing you joined? did you hesitate before participating? if yes, what was it and how did you overcome them?
My first outing: La Kopi session with HOFS.
Of coz i hesitated... scared scared... shy shy.... found it kinda weird to be meeting pple dat i only communicated with online...
my very first thought when i settled down with the grp... Eh, they are all human being also mah.
& from then on...there's no turning back.

me 1st was the x'mas dinner with keisha, RB, hong hong, bear, sillyme, lao ren jia, ah dot, meowsusan, kittynmeow, xian89 and chioco.

from the feedbacks i have been getting, the hinder list is as below:
1. shy (2 votes)
2. fear of being left out (2 votes)
3. scared cannot blend in or will be ostracized cos i bery chio and i not bery dao (1 vote)
4. skeptical about meeting ppl from the net esp some evil fishes around.. (1 vote)

don't know what to do when go for outing. see so many people also scared. cannot even remember nick and faces so pai sey. don't know anyone, don't know how to start conversation then sit like stone. scared say wrong thing offend people. shy and keep quiet but scared people think i dao.

first outing with the sians at sentosa was interested in going ahhh to sun-tan and after playing daidee kenna addicited to outings liao...
before hor i was sibez shy scared later i dun know wat everyone is talking about luckily go there dun need to talk one keep quiet and enjoy the sun n some games of daidee can liao otherwise u find me watching you very closely keke(lip reading mah)

at first was shy, then was scared that it's hard to blend in....... then now is i try to be at all outings..........

dragged joho...ended up with hong in tow..for the NDP shoot last year...
the whole grp was dominated by my sch's photography club

I wouldn't join an outing if most of the participants are people whom I'm not familiar with, or don't chat frequently with online. Prefer to get to know people abit more online, before meeting them.
This lowers the risk of finding that you totally cannot click with the group when you're already out with them.Originally posted by www:
