Woodlands you gonna luv it soon.
They are going to build North-South highways to Woodlands from city.
They are going to build a rapid transit link from Woodland North station to Johor. Look under the master draft plan.
Woodlands is in the North Super-corridor Industrial/Commercial project planned by govt. More jobs creation when you finished your uni.
They are going to improve and upgrade Woodlands to be next Biz Hub.
So look ahead.... I don't stayed in Woodlands though.
Punggol is obviously the best
I stay in pasir ris!
And here got downtown east!! :)
Originally posted by cupcakes1:ok so I live in Woodlands. Near the Mrt there. it sucks and I have always hated living in woodlands cuz its one hour away from my school (bukit timah). anyway , when i’m in uni i’m gonna stay at the dorm but for now its one hour transport time EVERYDAY mon-fri. I hate this transport even though I have been doing it for 5 years. I have promised myself to always go to school/work at most 15 minutes from my house in future after I graduate from this school.
I stay in Jurong West (Pioneer). Everyday I take around forty-fifty minutes to travel from my house in Jurong West (Pioneer) to my school in Clementi.
I know of people who stay in Woodlands area who everyday have to come to Clementi area. They say they take North South Line to Jurong East and take East West Line to Clementi/Dover, instead of take North South Line to Bishan, take Circle Line to Buona Vista, and take East West Line to Dover/Clementi. They say this route (via Jurong East) is faster and not so crowded. Maybe you can try taking NSL to Jurong East, instead of towards Marina Bay direction - if that's what you have been doing.
Originally posted by cupcakes1:secondly, woodlands is very far from town area like orchard, raffles, city hall, bugis and habourfront. Town area is very happening and woodlands is just meh. It is so damn ulu and remote. Its almost like living in the surburbs of new York city-
- need take transport 40 minutes to get to city -.. what’s the point of living in a city if you take 40 min just to get to the town area lol.also, the government is not doing anything to improve the situation of people who live in woodlands, tampines, etc. they should have expressway buses to go to town lol.
in conclusion, woodlands sucks and I want to move to more convenient places like Bishan or Clementi
It was also like this in Jurong. Last time, there was only IMM (similar to Causeway Point) and Jurong Entertainment Centre (similar to Yishun Ten) at Jurong East, and Jurong Point at Jurong West.
It was only in year 2012 when Jurong Entertainment Centre re-opened as JCube and in year 2013 when JEM and Westgate opened, that Jurong started to be a happening place. By next year, Big Box will open. All these additions is because in year 2008, the government decided to develop Jurong East-Chinese Garden area as Jurong Lake District.
Last year, the government said they wanted to develop Marsling-Woodlands-Admiralty area as Woodlands Regional Centre. According to last year's masterplan, there will be two new shopping centres next to Woodlands MRT. Woodlands North area may become another hub by itself. Woodlands will become just as (or much more) exciting than Jurong when these developments are up, by 2028.
If Jurong can become like what it is now just six years after Jurong Lake District is announced, I am sure five years from now, Woodlands will become just as exciting - or even more exiting - than Jurong.
I live in admiralty and my workplace is at aljunied. Take mrt everyday and sometimes the mrt is so packed with foreigners I feel relieved when I see a Singaporean. Singapore is not that big lah so traveling distance or time is not such a big issue. Breathe in and out relax and smell the vehicle fart.
Damn lot of strange people in sgforums.
Woodlands is near custom tho
Woodlands is the best.
woodlands is a love or hate relationship
You got home better be homless like those pitching tents at East Coas Park!!!
At least you don't have to run to school LOL but honestly, I hate doing meet ups with people located in the middle of red line -.-
