A sudden thought came to me after reading this: shouldn't the mother warn the son not to take rides from strangers?
On April 29, my nine-year-old son missed his school bus despite running after it. A gas delivery man and his companion saw him and gave him a lift in their lorry from Jurong East to his school, St Anthony's Primary, in Bukit Gombak. My son related their kind deed to me when he returned home from school in the evening. I would like to extend my appreciation and thanks to them.
The gas delivery man and his companion could have seen the opportunity and kidnap the boy (hypothetically)... (no offense to the delivery man and his companion)
Do u think the boy should take the ride from the gas delivery man or just simply call home to his mommy for help?

ha... depends...if e guy looks like croco than h3ll no!!! but it's really up to e individual....sometimes u have no choice...so must take e risk,but it's good to know that there are some warm n helpful people out there in "icy cold" Singapore....

Kidnap? That's a life imprisonment, if I remember correctly.
Steal money for the kiddo? How much money can they get?
Ransom? That's the same as kidnap.

This is somewhat like the dilemma Mr Steve Irwin faced when he dangled his little kiddo in front of a crocodile(no pun intended
), and went:"I was in absolute control of the situation.". And getting lambasted in the process by the general public.

but from young, mi am told not to take rides from strangers mah... but this boy just hop onto the vehicle of the strangers (or maybe these 2 men deliver gas to the boy's house often)

not implying tt gas delievery man is a crook. as much as we appreciate ppl's help..need to be aware of underlying dangers....its a sad fact that this world can no longer be trusted anymore?

but mi am sure tat many parents will tell their young children not to take things or follow strangers mah...

Well, in this case, it turned out well... a real case of HELP...
