Fifty nine motorists were caught for speeding at various locations around the island.

Another 11 were nabbed for drink driving, 25 were booked for illegal modifications of their vehicles and one was arrested for driving without a valid licence.

The traffic police said it will have another two high-tech weapons in their arsenal to nab speeding drivers soon, reported Channel NewsAsia.

One is a new, laser speed camera that can record up to two photographs per second.

It can capture details such as the registration number of a vehicle.

At 16kg, the high-tech camera is 30kg lighter than the current models being used.
