  TAIPEI, Taiwan (CNN) -- Taiwan President Chen Shui-bian appears to have won a narrow victory in his quest for a second term in office, a senior aide to the president told CNN.
  
  However, opposition candidate Lien Chan called the election "unfair" and said he would challenge the results.
  
  "We are going to complain about the election being void," Lien said to crowds of cheering supporters, some crying.
  
  He urged his supporters to be "calm" and "rational," but noted that Friday's assassination attempt on Chen had an impact on the vote.
  
  "We still have not been given a true explanation of yesterday's shooting incident," Lien said. "It's impact on our election is clear, direct and across the board."
  
  Chen and Vice President Annette Lu survived an assassination attempt Friday on the last day of campaigning.

  They say the Assasination is fake and arranged.
  
  Firstly, he "dragged" around 10+ mins before being admitted to Bian's hospital.
  
  Second, he don't allow anyone to enter that hospital to visit him. No one at all.
  
  Third, he did not request for the arrest of the assassin. He just let him off. Would you let someone who attempted to kill you off just like that?
  
  It seems like a vicious plan to win votes.
  
  330+k votes were "void" compared to the previous election where 120+k votes were considered "wasted". This huge jump is a little suspicious.
  
  And, some of the balloting stations read the votes wrongly. Votes for Lian Chen were read in favor of Bian. This one might be wrong. Heard this from my mom. But imagine if 3 votes at each of the 10+k balloting stations were read wrongly due to human error, it could change the whole elections results. Hmmm...

  and with all the crap written about it, about how the slug was found on the back of his shirt (thought he was wounded in the abdomen?) and the magic bullet theory, the difference in the slug and casings found....
  
  how true were his wounds?
  
  and if he did that to himself, how cynical he is...

  There's so many queries about this incident. To me, it's all part of his campaign. Well... he succeeded thus far.
