getting a licence improves handling ?

i saw my friend drifting with a r34 C after teaching him some steps,down 1 gear etc. and i noticed he was drifting very well. most of the time he didnt hit the walls when he drifted. i hit the walls several times on a slightly curved road when i drove his car for fun and he didnt hit at all!
to me it's either because he has a driving licence( normal ones) so he has a feel of cars better than i do.
when i played myogi and usui with him, he managed to out accelerate me and get a lead on me. only times i managed to get ahead of him is when we drift at a bend that i am familiar with and he is not. and many times during a track he manages to get ahead of me even though he started only today. eventually i won him both tracks because i was more familiar with it than he is. -
haha seriously i dont think this game has anything to do with driving a real car man...

the physics of this game is from another dimension...
what they do is physically impossible...
you CANNOT make a hairpin in a car like that at 120... -

i only managed to avoid crashing to walls at times because i am familiar with a track.
anyway i still think it's a matter of feeling -
Well since he has a license, he should be able to handle a car slightly better. Since he has some practice with a real car, he just needs to adjust a little. But I don't think you can feel much just by looking at the screen. No feeling of the car swerving or braking or acceleration.Originally posted by bismarck:he's lucky and i am not ?

See him drive at tracks that he is unfamiliar with. Either he will crash or he will take the turns slowly like real life.

I dont think so by getting a licence will make you a better driver because it's totally different between driving a simulator and a real car.

well, i see people shifting DOWN at about 7000rpm...
try that in a real car.. you'll see lots of smoke coming from your bonnet...
besides.. think about it for a while.. you think after hitting a wall, the car is in any condition to move at all? -

revving to the red line is fine in most cases
even when hitting the red line theres still about 200 ++ rpm before you hit the rev limiter
even when you hit the rev limiter you can still afford to bounce on it abit beofre you engine blows up , so all in all, theres still quite a way to go
besides in drags and circuits ppl rev close to the red line almost all the time anyways
and i tink in initial d, the old engines jus too damn old , prob was gonna blow sooner or later anways -

let me guess...15 forward gears?
whether or not i can drive or not it doesnt matter...
take a look at racing engines, wheher F1 or not. do u see them driving under 60? or is their RPMs in excess of 10k? so much so that they have to change engines very frequently?
btw heard of something called turbochargers or supercharges? or do u need www.google.com to explain to u?
u dont need a racer to tell u ppl change gears at 3000rpm do u? or ppl drive at 60kmh?

the reason why i didnt take driving lessons is because there is only 1 car at home and 4 licences? for wht.
going to sch is so convienient for me, i can just hitch a ride and while going there i can sleep or do something else. i have juniors,classmates and friends in school who either have a licence or are taking the exams now.
in case u didnt know, there are ppl who may have a licence but choose not to have a car because they can rest and not face the stress when there is a traffic jam?? -

In a game, u noe u playing a game. Thus u DARE to do those stunt like turning at corner going 100++km/hr.
BUT in reality, would u dare to do such stunt? Even if ur ride has such engine power n equipment? -
