It is an entertainment, but not healthy to see the wastage. You can spend thousands on a nice shirt, that is pure madness, the next lower level of madness will just be simply spending thousands on an arcade game. -

I feel I have to step in here. While its known that I've for long found all the feuds and sometimes unfriendly rivalry in this game childish and immature, I do think its totally crazy to compare it to drugs and smoking. Drugs, smoking and even alcohol are forms of self harm, wherelse simply playing a game is not. You are not directly harming yourself at the end of the day. And I have too many friends here who're on drugs or smoke too much, to the point that the distinction between an arcade game and taking drugs r very clear. Yes maybe u're right that it is madness. But its no more madness than spending money to watch a movie, at the end of which all u have to show for is a ticket stub. There are two words- sense and madness.
Spending thousands on an arcade game, unfortunately, is just madness any way you look at it, unless it is from deluded view. You don't even get to keep the machine, all you have to show? A magnetic card.
Justifying it by saying 'entertainment' is crazy in itself too. -
of course u do realise that most laymen probably can afford to catch F1 a couple of times. and a ticket in malaysia is not 1.2k. u can get many of the malaysian tix for as low as 100RM(official price) so its not as prohibitively expensive as u think. as for the rest, might i remind u that many F1 attendees in the more expensive sections are often quite well off, and those people in the highly priced sectors r often millionaires, so in this context, when thousand of $ r small change to them, its not insane to pay that much to go see an F1 race when u own luxury yachts.Originally posted by AMD2004:Once??? wah..ur knowledge very DEEP . as for the rest of us, certainly we could watch a quite few F1 races with the money u spend on Initial D. A game is not insane if played with moderation. When played obsessive-compulsively, it IS madness.
