How robust is the SAR-21 rifle? Can you expect it to work after putting it
in a pool of mud just like the legendary AK-47 rifle?
As for the Korean K-2 rifle I used while I was doing military service..
I never put it in a pool of mud. However, it got quite clumsy
after firing about 4~5 magazines. I had to clean up the rifle after that.
The Korean K-2 rifle is just as robust as the American M-16 rifle..
that is.. not robust at all..
Its robust enough, minus all the rubbery bits and pieces, and that laser sighting thing.
certainly robust. we have carried it across swamps, rivers, etc. and it will still fire.
Using live rounds, very few malfunctions...the integral scope which is part of the body/handle is factory-zeroed and won't shift/change in any condition.
Using plastic blanks, due to insufficient pressure/gas from the lower amount of powder, there can be quite some malfunctions....
It has also been tested to be rolled over by 5-ton trucks (it actually weighs 8 tons and can carry 5 tons)...with no problems. The specially engineered polymer material is nearly as strong as metal....
All rifles, keep it clean, look after it.
I used the M-16 in my service, it was fine. I hear the SAR-21 is fine too.
Both shoot reliably on the range and jam often with the plastic blanks we train with. The blanks make less gas and have a soft body that is ruptured/deformed by the gas or tears when extracted. Of course the SAR-21 would hold up better in dirt.
This SAR-21 was fired with a missing part, but it is what a SAR-21 would look like if it exploded.
The K-2 has a bolt carrier group derived from the M16 and gas operating system is derived from the AK-47, which is the same system as the SAR-21.
Continuing where we left off last time. What I don't get is why your army is so brutal. It doesn't rule the country anymore. People could make it change if they shouted loud enough, istead everyone supports it in public but hopes their son evades it in practice.
when i was doing POI..a guy droped his sar-21 rifle from our 4 story high tower..not even a
scratch on the rifle...it almost hit an officer standing below though..everything's good for our
sar-21 other than the stupid LAD which came loose after firing 3-4 rounds and needs to be
re-zero again and again no matter now tight you secure it...

Yeah..... I had the same problem with my LAD.
The problem is that there is only one screw attaching the LAD to the rifle body.
They should have used two.
